Saw several comments about possible brake failure when putting a larger tire instead of the stock. Is this really something that I should be concerened with even though it might be 8% difference?

Where did you read that at ?

I have 37X13.5X20's and my truck will stop with zero issues, especially in an emergency situation. Very happy with the brakes on my 2019

I read it on a tire site (dont remember), talkin about the speed of the tires could be a concern. I find it BS honestly.

Never have heard or read about this. Please link the source.
It is true that some rim sizes will not clear the brake caliper on certain models. Perhaps this is what you are referring to?

Tundra has pretty beefy brakes. My 35 s work just fine. I think the only problems larger tires may cause is longer brake times, and or quicker brake wear due to heavier wheels and tires.

I don’t know about brake failure but I can definitely feel my brakes struggling with the 37’s. I’m going to upgrade my brakes, just have a few things ahead of it.

Yeah I think it just refers to the speed the larger tire is traveling and what affect is has on the brakes overtime. I am not going to worry about it.

Good for you. I can tell you that the Tundra from my experience has the best brakes out of any of the trucks and I've driven them all.

The first gen tundras have pretty mediocre brakes so that may have been what you read.
