I have a new CM, got the 38gal tank.

Had ordered black Sumo springs and went to measure the available space.

Driver's side: 5.25" inches at best (really about 5")
    Passenger: 6.5"

Measured the sumo springs, they are around 6in. That means on one side they'd not only be in contact all the time, they'd be compressed. The other side wouldn't even be touching. Planning on sending them back. May get the blue 1000lb version some day but even then not excited about them right. (They may be solving a problem I don't even have... would like need to cut the top donut off the stack to make them fit properly)

Anyway, what to do about uneven ride? Does it even matter? I don't think I would have noticed without crawling down there with a tape measure.

It's called the Tundra Lean. It's common. Yours does sound to be a bit more severe at an inch and a quarter. If you search Tundra Lean in the forum search bar you should get a few different points to start from.

Ok. I guess it makes sense with 38gal * 6.3lbs = 239lbs for the tank, plus another 190lbs for me (says 185 on my driver's license LOL.)

Shim or learn to live with it? Wife doesn't weigh much.

    Ugh.

I ordered the coachbuilder shim. Now that I know the lean is there it would otherwise bug me forever. Might as well address it.

Called a suspension shop for a quote on installing my Bilsteins. At the same time I mentioned "Hey I want to put in a shim..." and they basically told me it's a bad idea.

So I went out and measured again. Turns out that the front was _not_ tilted the same way as the back. Not only was it not tilted as I expected, it was higher on the driver's side than the passenger!

Then I stood back and realized my driveway is not straight, it's angled to allow rain runoff. Went to a level spot and measured again, truck is virtually level.

Don't know what I'll tell the shock guys now. I did order the shim but it's not here. Will the Bilstein's make my truck lean now? (I read here that the Toyota parts already account for the tilt)

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    FWIW...
Airbags on the rear and you can adjust as you need. If I’m hauling anything of size, I try and put it more on the passenger side of the bed. But if I’m full (for say a weekend trip/ vacation) I’ll just adjust the bags as needed.
Never really seen enough difference up front to warrant any additional shims.

    Washer fluid reservoir, lol
    Muffler

Factory suspension usually accounts for this, but once you go aftermarket, prepare to shim!

H3ll no. Airbags will likely mess up my ride even more. They are a band-aid.

Like I said, for what it’s (was) worth.
I guess I should have asked about or prefaced with not knowing your current suspension/tire set up.
Did you get just the rear springs, and/or any of their bump stops?

I’ve got Icon (stage 3) and I’m on 35’s. I considered Icon and Timbrens bumps, but ultimately decided on the bags. The bags literally provide a bit of cushion to the rear, and have been great with load leveling. I also have the wheelers bump stops up front.

Wheelers has rear bump stops and they also carry Timbren, both of which also have shims available that would likely get you the spacing your looking for. Good luck with it!
