Want a smooth ride buy the fox coil overs with reservoir. They take the harshness out of highway driving. Most of the harshness is also in the rear setup.

Assume you know that the TRD Pro suspension can be easily added to any 3rd generation stock Tundra? It is pricey around $3,200 from Sparks for example and it's sold on Amazon too. Guess I spent about a total of 4 hours installing mine on the garage floor, but I'm old, fat, and slow! It really is a simple installation with simple parts for anyone good with a wrench.

Yeah well aware but thanks anyway. In all honesty I just don’t want to tear apart anything suspension wise until A) it’s paid off or B) the current parts are getting worn out. When I was younger I dumped a stupid amount of money into my trucks. I spend money taking care of this one...ceramic coating, washing, and small mods. Nothing crazy...I live vicariously through everyone posting awesome pictures of your Tundras :)

Pricey itself, yes, BUT it gets you longer travel, better off road performance, and a smoother ride on pavement AND there’s zero fuss getting it to work with stock UCAs and stock wheels.

Some of the other kits I was looking at included UCAs but if I got those, then I would have to get aftermarket wheels, too. I went TRD Fox to avoid all that and stay with a totally OEM setup.

Well, uhm... señor Maquina Guerra... :stirthepot:
at least “Blue” is uhm a REAL color... unlike, say black or white... :p:D:p:D... However, people just claiming that they are is simply inaccurate.

Now, if you were to say, for instance... “Black is the fastest hue, value, or shade.”, well then, sir, you got me on that one forever, always, and eternity!:rofl::rofl:

Besides, when reinforcements are required, well the cavalry is called in and that señor, is a bluetiful thing!

I've been wanting a new Tundra as mine has 93k miles and I'm wanting to trade before the 100k mile mark. I live in WV and dealers close by have absolutely nothing or very low stock. I have to have a Crewmax and I have wanted a Cement Tundra since they started offering that color. My options are limited to say the least. I've looked in TN, KY, OH, and parts of VA and no matter where I'm looking the cement is few and far between. I'm torn by the choice of either having the last model year of the tried and tested or the all new latest greatest. So heres where I'm at. A local dealer I've been working with has a Cement Trail Edition with a build date in early March. The Trail lacks a few things I want but not anything I can live without. So what I think I'm going to do is wait until I can actually see the truck them make my decision. I don't necessarily need a new truck right now so my options are still open.

Will they hold it for you? Deposit to hold? If not, there is a good chance it will be sold before it reaches their lot. Cement is a desirable color and folks are snatching them up. Have you considered expanding your search to the mid-west, Texas? It seems like that is where the supply is better currently. They can sell you the truck and ship to you. Or you could do a fly 'n ride and make it a real adventure. We have a real shortage here too. I haven't seen a new Tundra on the lot at my local dealership in 3 months. I don't know whether they are not getting them, or if they are being sold before they make it on to the lot. Production of new Tundras is likely to end early this year with the factory retooling for the next Gen.

It wasn’t until I really joined this forum...

I didn’t know how blessed of a deal I got on my new 2019 Cavalry Blue Tundra, which in IMHO, is still the awesome-est color of the special colors. I was able to negotiate my SR5 for just over 35K$ out the door with only 3 miles, two complete sets of [5] wheels and tires-TRD & steelies, tinted fronts, spray-in bed liner, and running boards. The already adjusted pricing of $35,785 was a bargain but my salesman was great and was gladly able to squeeze some more for me. Looking back on it now, man my sales guy really did rock it!

So for me, buying new made more sense than considering nowadays, perhaps even back then, used truck prices with all kinds of mileage and varying history.

I have been having a blast with all the mods. I have dumped plenty into it but no where near what I would have spent for a higher trim level... not even close!

So the long short, @Shamrock92, OP, you do you and get what will make you have the best smiles per gallon.

I know (now), right? I jumped at the opportunity and started negotiations on the truck. I pretty much bought the rig sight unseen, with the exception of the internet pics...

To be fair, it was a year end close out kind of deal... The 2020’s were landing just a handful of weeks afterward...

Here is what it was advertised at and what it looked like, ya know, before all the hard child labor “schtuff”.

    Outstanding deal.

I was pretty happy with the deal I got on my 2017 SR5.
I was right around 37k with lift, bedliner, wheels, and tires. Of course I dropped at least another 10k modding it after the fact.

    38F23630-4941-4292-8D59-13A330892A62.jpg

For comparison, I paid 50k for the new Platinum, and have spent around 6k modding it so far. Clearly if you can get a great deal on an SR5, you’re way cheaper in the long run.

That is a deal on the SR5. However, that is a steal on the Platinum, or at least I think so. I was soooo close to pulling the trigger on a 21 Lunar Rock PRO back in late November. It was $56K MSRP. Your Platinum still even sounds like a better deal than the PRO I was looking at

Yeah, I did find that dealers were willing to move on trims other than the Pro. I was surprised I got it on the color though since there were only 2 in the state at the time.

I hear you. The dealer here was NOT going to budge on the PRO either... So no two Tundra household for me. They were trying to sway me into a white platinum for just over $50k but I said no thank you...

Aint that the truth, the best deal I found so far was 42k msrp for a sale price of 38k before taxes. And that was with the 2k rebate that now is only 1k. And that truck is gone now anyways. They need to release the 2022 info and in needs to be a homerun so these prices get better.

Yea - exactly....but have you EVER heard salespeople admit the demand is slow. I can walk into Cadillac showrooms and things are "brisk" if I ask them how its going.

To be good at auto sales - you've got to have liar tendencies. To be great you gotta be good at hiding them from the public.

So I'm still debating - local to me now, no incentives - aside from 500 student/graduate or affiliate promo. If I go back "home" and use my other address- 1k rebate on SR5 or above excluding TRD Pro.

I am seriously considering just ordering a TRD Pro Lunar Rock (now available again) or possibly 1794 in Army Green. Just got some crap health news - and well this might make me feel better. Nothing major - well major as in dealing with "have your affairs in order...do all those things you always wanted to.." kinda major....just heart issues - and at 46 I still thought I'm too young to have to worry about those - guess not.

Sucks as the whole idea of wanting something new was started by my old man's passing - he never would by new...always putting off things - saying he didn't want something "fancy"...towards the end he told me he wished he had been a little more selfish in a weird way...not all the time, just from time to time. Fast forward 4 years and when mom went after a year of set back after set back - I realized I need to indulge my self from time to time and do it before I'm too old to enjoy it (or worse).
