Anyone have any experience with one. The wife is wanting one. 2015 model. Has a 4.6 motor. Other than a leaky cam tower anything else to look out for.

When I got the wife hers, a friend who works at Lexus advised to stay away from models with the air ride suspension. Prone to failure and expensive to fix.

I was looking at the same thing to replace my wife's 4r. I'm now leaning more towards the RX F sport.... i liked that a LOT but it's an even fight

I have a '15, MGM, black interior (harder to find around here for some reason), luxury package (so it does have the airbags). Excellent, smooth, quiet ride. Solid as a rock cuz it's built on a truck chassis. Actually a different chassis than the 4 runner. Overseas they are the Land Cruiser Prado. Very popular with the narrow roads in other parts of the world. Plan to remove the airbags and lift it if and when the airbags go out. So far the only thing that's gone out on it was the front passenger automatic door locking mechanism. Seems to be common issue. Easy and painless fix when under warranty. I heard a new one is $700.

Do they have the exhaust manifold issues that the 4R has with the 4.6L engine?

Toyota had the exhaust manifold cracking issues in the 4.7 engine. Anyting with that in it will have or had them crack- land cruiser/ Tundra/ 4Runner/sequoia etc... Same for Lexus products with the 4.7.

Yeah- I have a gx470 with 216,000 miles. Love the truck but going to get rid of it bc of the cracked manifolds. Not looking to put that money into it.

This freaked me out a little. Walked a way. I feel at 26000 miles it should not leak like this. My 99 wrangler has less of a oil leak.

Spent about an hour and a half prepping my 460 for the CBI Off-Road sliders by trimming the running boards this morning. Hopefully I get to pick the sliders up from the trucking company in the morning.

Most likely it is a shitty job of changing the oil. When I bought mine at 96k miles it looked way worse than that. turned out to be a cracked canister and the o-ring was in the wrong groove.

Nope, no U.S 460 has factory lockers.

Correction there is a center diff lock.
There is Crawl Control and Multi Terrain Selection which has 4 modes.

I have a 2013 460 and had a timing chain cover leak. They leak there a lot. I circled in red where they notoriously leak from. The dealer wanted $2500 just to fix the leak. For $1100 I bought all the parts I needed to fix the leak on top of the water pump, thermostat, new radiator, new spark plugs and every water hose there is. Mine had 90k on it. The dealer I bought it from cleaned the engine to hide the leak. It’s a very slow leak, but literally cakes everything with oil. I cleaned every part and it took me about a week and a half to repair, but no more leaks. You have to put more of the RTV in those valleys. Good times. 2A433311-8FCA-4891-8522-A7CC952C22FE.jpgD43BE029-E1ED-4F4F-996D-915D2759D954.jpg

We had two leases. 15 & 17. Same vehicle, very nice ride.
    Cons:
premium gas recommended. I would alternate mid grade with premium with no issues.

Gas mileage very poor, but should be expected. Maybe poorer than expected.

Stock Michelin tires are soft for ride but don't last 20k miles. Under load rated plus all wheel drive chewed them up.

Rear swing door is very obnoxiously huge. Functional but prefer lifting hatch or split tailgate/hatch.

You may be disappointed in technology, or Lack there of. Those were behind for a while.

She is in an RX350 now, kid is grown. Regular gas, better mileage and more fun to drive.
