You Canadians get goofy models up there. The TRD Pro is still technically just an SR5 with a bunch of options up there. I learned it has to do with certifying new “models” up there.

That's not what the TRD Pro is in the US?

Not entirely true. My SX package has front bucket seats and the center console and a 26 gallon tank.

For what its worth i dont mind having a smaller tank. Would prefer larger but its not the end of the world. Havent towed with the truck yet though so we will see if i change my mind lol. But i try not to be bothered by the little things in life - making an extra 15 minute stop on a road trip is a little thing to me

    My bad.

Op, you have to figure out which packages are available in your area before you find a way to confirm the tank size.

Nope - they are their own model down here.

This is my TRD Pro. Notice the "Grade", and the "Standard Equipment" vs "Port or Factory Equipment" (mine had no add-ons at all).
    upload_2021-2-1_8-9-1.jpg

This is a Canadian TRD Pro. Notice all the Port/Factory Installed extras vs the Standard Install list, and the Grade is SR5.

I found a nice Calvary Blue near me for sale now its a 2020 so I know it wont have the external trans cooler, but it does have the upgraded 38 gal tank. Only has 9k miles on it as well. May go take a look at that.

I found a 2019 Barcelona red tundra, its about 7 hours from me, doesnt have the 38 gal tank, but has a lift tires and a few little mods done with only 13k miles.

Barcelona Red looks good blacked out but so does the Calvary Blue..... I like the 38 gal tank options though

Just check prices carefully because you may be able to get a new one for not much more than those.

That red SX looks GREAT, but if you're down to the red or the Cavalry Blue trucks, I'd go blue and get the big tank.

I have a 26 and it’s only an issue for me when I’m putting lotsa miles on out in the middle of nowhere. Only get about 300 miles a tank. You want the 38 unless you’re getting a great deal in price for what you want.

Yeah i like the red but calvary blue TRD OR package was actually my first choice. Was just really hard to find and with the recent shortage issues and the untimely demise of my 2007 Yukon i ran out of patience and pounced on this SX when it came up. The calvary blue is a great color!

Thank you for the response. SO your getting roughly 300 mile on a 26 gal tank?

Well there’s about a 6 gallon reserve, so about 320 until I hit “0miles” or light comes on, so still have 150 miles if needed. I’ve heard it’s not great for the fuel pump to run it that low often. So in reality I’m workin with just a 20 gallon tank I guess. If the truck didn’t have everything else I wanted and wasn’t such a great deal I would have held out for the bigger tank.

500 miles on my 38 gallon tank, a little more in the warmer temps of summer.

If that's your $160k Airstream Classic why mess around with a used Tundra. Grab a new Ford, GM, RAM diesel to go with it.

I don’t think he wants to be stranded, repeatedly returning to the dealership, or constantly watching over his rig as parts break, leak, and malfunction. We’ll leave that to the geniuses who still purchase your recommendations despite years of documented poor reliability. A quick browse through any Dodge, Ford, or Chevy owner/enthusiast forum should serve as plenty of contemporaneous warning to any would be buyers.

Just because the OP has a nice trailer doesn’t mean he’s stupid with his money.

Unless an HD/SD is needed for pulling something really heavy, Tundra is still the way to go.

OP--Welcome to the forum. Here are some random thoughts related to your post and the thread in general...

    • Yes, you want the 38 gal tank. Unloaded, you're looking at combined fuel economy around 13-14mpg. I've read towing is like 10mpg or less. That giant tank eats into your payload though.
    • The TRD Sport is dechromed, but it comes with that dang hood scoop that makes the truck look like it has two hood scoops. If I were chrome averse, I would get a Limited or Platinum and finish the dechrome myself.
    • 2019+ have no ext trans cooler. There are reports on this forum and on YouTube of guys having issues like the trans temp warning light coming on from normal use. One guy traded his 2017 in on a 2020 and got the warning light from using the 2020 in the exact same way he used his 2017. The only difference between the two is no ext trans cooler. You can read lots more about it on the forum. An ext cooler is a pretty easy install. I got all the parts for less than $750.
    • Tundra pickings are slim to none in most areas. Getting your exact list of wants/needs may be difficult. Good luck in your search!

Thank you, and I will never buy anything besides Toyota. A Tundra will tow anything and everything I buy

Thank you for your input, I definitely want the 38 gal tank now, I was actually leaning more towards the sport because I kinda like the scoop look, I see what your saying about the double scoop though. Im going to have to do more digging on the trans cooler thing. And you guys are getting 10 and less MPG towing? Shiiit thats what I get with my Taco, I thought the Tundra would be a little better

Pretty much every gas engine gets 10 mpg towing a decent sized trailer

I have noticed that some of the TRD Pro's have leather seats. Does anyone know what the difference is between TRD Pro leather seats and Platinum Leather seats?
