I was going to buy tow mirrors, not necessarily for better visibility, just liked how marker lights looks :). So before to buy it, I decided to modify mirrors by adding side marker lights from Ford F150.

This is how it looks... What you think? Modified or tow mirrors?

I hate it. You should buy towing mirrors and then send those mirrors to me so I can properly dispose of them for you... by installing them on my truck.
You can keep the chrome caps though.

    ;)

Looks pretty good. I’d like to see more details.

    lol!!! Thanks!:)

I am editing a step by step video with all details. I will upload it during the week!!

This is the rear/inside view without the lights. Initially I installed smoke style lights but didn't like it at all and ended changing it by clear lights.

Nice. I'll be interested to know what you used for marker lights, and what circuit you tapped for them. Also, do they provide turn signal blinking like the tow mirrors do?

I tapped tailgate circuit using a fuse tap adapter. This lights are OEM mirror lights for Ford F-150. I installed it as marker lights only no signal. But I will explore that too :). I had to cut 2 small parts from the lights and used 3M glue. Here is the one I have: https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMBER-LED-...150-US/402350513865?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I tried smoke lights first but didn't like it.

Pins 5 and 6 on the plug for the mirrors are turn signal wires...I looked into this yesterday since I will be installing Muths in the near future.

Thanks! Those mirrors came with my truck :). But I need to figure out how to switch the power source from the tailgate circuit (constant power 12v) to the signal circuit (pulse power). Maybe some logic with a relay NC o NO. To be honest I have to think more about it. All ideas suggestions are welcome :).

Hit the wiring diagram post in my signature and pull down the system circuit diagrams for 2021 - they will cover the 2018 and give you the info on the different circuits. The tow mirrors are plug and play for turn signals and marker lights, so the wiring should already be at the truck-side connector in your sail panels.

Thanks!!! I did an old school test using a multimeter to measure all pins while turning ON/OFF lights but none of them worked. After that I decided to tap tailgate circuit from the fuse box. But I am going to double check and validate with your info!! Thank you!! I will let you know! :)

If you don’t need tow mirrors I would stick with your modified ones. Can be tricky to find good looking tow mirrors that keep the BSM and power fold working properly.
