Will anything bad happen if a round air freshener disc sits inside the defrost vent? I’m too afraid to tell my husband! Need help!

Possibly...But, he'll never know it was you that caused all that expense and trouble of tearing the dash apart. :D

Which outlet? Someone here is always popping off their trim and HVAC outlets. You may be able to extract it with some guidance.

Oh man, I’m in a panic! Front passenger side vent, I’m terrified it making any sound of movement in there, and praying the strong air freshener scent subsides sooner than later. If it stays in there, will it cause any harm?

I would remove it and find another way to mount the freshener. If the freshener is small enough to vibrate it's way down to the doors that control the air flow, it could really foul up your HVAC operation. Your AC/heater/defrost will stop doing what it's supposed to do when you tell it to do it.

Can you still see the freshener inside the outlet?

thank you for your insight. No I can’t see it, we are in transit right now. Looks like I’ll be telling him my little accidental secret once he’s not driving anymore.

Try this before panicking. Turn the AC blower speed to maximum flow, select hi-level (AC) flow to dash outlets, manually close all dash outlets except the one with the freshener. Diverting all the flow to that one outlet may force the freshener back up the duct close to the outlet. If that works, get some tweezers or needle-nose pliers and pull out the freshener.

Thanks John for taking time out to guide me through. I broke my silence and told him the truth, quickly he was able to lift up the vent and he was able to get it out, (after giving me a ear or two of no more air fresheners in the car, in a not so nice tone) with the assistance of my brother. Thank you again and feel better it’s off my chest!
