2005 tundra SR5 fog lights not working

Hey guys new to the forum. I have a 2005 double cab V8 SR5. It originally didn’t come with fog lights but I have put in some fog lights and a new switch. Now only my high beams turn on and both my fog lights and low beams don’t turn on. Has anyone done this before or have a solution.

Did you install the required relay?

 

I haven’t installed the relay yet. I have the relay but I never found the spot for it. Other Toyota owners say it’s behind the inside fuse box but I believe all my spots are filled.

 

Not sure if the 2005 differs from my 2002, my fog light relay is in the engine compartment next to the battery.

 

I’ve checked there too, but there’s no FOG light slot as far I as can tell. I’ll keep looking tho....

 

there's a fog light relay there? is that different from the drl relay?

 

My 2002 doesn't have DRL so not sure if it has a different relay. Here's where the fog light relay is located in my 2002.

 

@TrooperCole02 If you believe all the spots are filled up, then you may have the relay pre-installed.
I did this mod about a year ago on my 06 DC, without the relay being
pre-installed.
The relay location is under that driver side dash. I followed the instructions to the link below and read #6. The relay goes in the empty spot.



Also, If you're using LED headlamps and fog lamps, you'll need one of these to make everything work properly. https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...ad-resistor-h4-led-headlight-bulbs/2932/6284/ You just need one and install it either on driver or passenger side. Make sure you mount it away from anything plastic. It gets VERY HOT.
Its very easy to install. You just plug one end into your headlight wire harness and the other into the head lamp.

I believe I already have the relay installed however nothing happens I still don’t have any lights.

 

Do you have LED head lights and LED fog lights?

 

Neither, I’ve always had factory halogen headlights and wanted to install fog lights. They are halogen as well.

 

Well the only other idea that I have is you don't have the relay installed. Have you checked?

 

Yes I’ve checked, All my relay spots behind the fuse box is full. I don’t know what else to do

 

So you have a new stalk, halogen head lamps and fogs and you say the relay is installed. hmmm...

Try this. You said you have an extra relay, try replacing the relay that's installed there now with the new one. See if that works.

 

I did swap the relays and nothing happened. At this point I may just take out the fog lights and forget that I ever bought them. I can’t find anything else online regarding my predicament, but if anyone else has an idea or has figured it out please let me know!

 

Do low beams still not work?

Is it a perhaps a Sequoia stalk and not a Tundra one?

 

I bought it from eBay and it says tundra so I’m not sure. From what I understand they should be the same.

The fact low beam stopped working is why I think you may have the wrong switch.

Mine are working. It’s the other fellow that is having problems. The community here fixed me tight up.

 

People have asked how you fixed your issue and are curious.

 

I actually piggybacked on the other persons post. I bought the correct stalk, and relay and followed the forum directions. They work perfectly. Thank you guys for all the tips and directions. Mine was plug and play.
