5" lift 20x12 fuel with 35" nitto ridge graplers. Full led and secaine 9" android head unit.
The mustangs also have the fake sound thru the speakers. I say lets put a tesla motor in our tundra with 1,000 horse power. Maybe when we are all electric and they finally realize that they need coal power to recharge the battery there is a problem. Lets add 20x more coal plants to keep the cars clean.

I could always squeeze extra miles out of a stick than I could with a similar automatic. I used to coast and float the gears.

And they live by that. Look how long the naysayers and automags have whined that the 4Runner and Tundra are out of date and need to be redone. Toyota just keeps laughing all the way to the bank.

Not so much with my money. I haven't bought a new Toyota since 1992.

That may be, but they sell plenty of them. The 4Runner sales increased every year after their last cosmetic refresh. Nothing changed but the looks, and their sales kept going up. If it ain't broke....

6.2 liter or HD...never going to happen. Toyota knows it doesn’t sell enough to compete in the HD market. Most buyers will over load a normal Tundra before they ever purchased a HD Tundra. Even though Toyota started as a truck manufacturer.

Yeah that's kind of the same with the "3rd gen" Tundra . It's basically the same as the 2nd gen with cosmetic upgrades. The problem is they're no better that what they started with.

I'm actually kinda happy that the refresh was cosmetic. I never liked the look of the Tundra until the new look, but I love that it's a "basic" truck even in it's optioned trims. Not sure you can beat the value in an SR5 Tundra.

I liked the look of the 2nd gen more than the 1st gen when it came out. I agree the refresh on the the 2nd gen looks better but I couldn't justify spending the money on a newer truck than I did. I just needed a good utility truck and with the Tundra I ended up with way more than I needed. There's just nothing like I need out there anymore. I wish I could have found some kind of older truck with low miles.

Understandable. I have been burned by used vehicles almost every time. I only buy new. If I can't afford it, I don't need it. With the plummeting level of personal responsibility, work ethic, and general common sense; I wouldn't buy a used car that was beyond it's first oil change unless I had a back up set of wheels. How many of the phone zombies do you think actually get basic maintenance done, or would fess up to messing anything up on their vehicle? Slim to none, IMO.

I did need a truck but there was no way I could justify spending 40K+ for a new one. I would worry about every scratch, dent or getting dirt in the cab. My first new truck was an '85 F150 that cost $7000. I would buy another new one like it if they still made them like that except it would have to be a 4X4. I bought a '94 4X4 used 10 years ago for $1900 that I recently sold. It nickled and dimed me all the time. My neighbor down the road bought it from me and I swear he has used it more in the three months he's owned that I did in the last 10 years. There's an 1980 F250 on bring a trailer with only 76 miles, yes 76, not 76K. It's open to bids but the price is already $35K. It's too nice to use for a daily driver.

LOL, Tell me about it! Ive looked and driven my share of old very low mileage cars. They are time bombs of trouble that has accumulated over the years that is waiting to happen. They can never be used reliably as a daily driver.

Never gonna happen but for conversation sake, they dont even need to do all that IMO.

An NA 5.7, 6.0 or 6.2L V8 getting a real 22mpg(not hypermilin’ at 55mph) on the freeway, making 485ft lbs w/ a bulletproof 10 speed and they’d take whatever they asked from me. Wouldn't even go for invoice.

The reality is they don’t sell anywhere near enough volume to invest in Tundra development the way the big 3 can in their trucks. I’m OK with them doing one thing really well versus spending engineering budget on a low volume halo version.

I agree that is the reality of things. I am basically aware that the the V8 is dying off and it is a bummer (I believe that lead gas kicked this off in 72'). I guess the best I can do is put a Magnuson S/C on my wish list, Kings on the wing list, gears on the wish list, bumpers on the wish list... so take my 17' SR5 with an estimated current value of about 34k and "invest" 17k in it. Or start with a 2021 platinum for around 50k and dump another 17k; that brings it up to well over 60k...Or go with a stock base level Raptor and add Deavers and Hydro bumps. By the way, unless I stumble on a pile of money none of that will happen and I will drive my 2017 for as long as possible. I am however planning on replacing 6112s/5160s with Kings in another 40k miles:)>

Oh yea- that V6 Raptor would definitely need a Dirty Deeds Industries exhaust! I laugh every time my buddy starts his Raptor- and then I smile at him and start the Tundra. HAHAHAHA. BTW I also put her in BEAST mode and surprise him on the road from a light!

    Hell No!

Toyota needs to do what they do best, and let the "Big 3" fight amongst themselves.
