    Good morning everyone!

I'm looking at getting into a Tundra XSP. The XSP package comes with 20in rims and slim tires. Being from Montana I am looking at swapping rims and tires ASAP to accommodate for mountain rocky roads and deep snow. I want to go with black rims or maybe bronze rims. I have a budget of about $1600 bucks for new tires and rims.

What size rim and tire can I run without getting tire rub and will/how much backspacing will I need? Is it possible to run 33's without tire rub? And what are you guys' favorite rims and tires that I can get within this budget? Lastly, I will be adding either the bilstein or eibach 2.5" coilovers a little bit further down the road to level it out a little. So what tire and rim set up can I run with stock suspension, and with the 2.5"in lift without having the tires look too small once its lifted?

Thanks in advanced for any comments!

Thank you! I wish I saw this thread before I posted mine. Super helpful.

What are your favorite rim and tire combos?

Being that this is in the First Gen section, I'm gonna say whoa nelly on that advice. A first Gen will not clear a 33" tire without modification. The link provided does have the correct information for your model. What clears and what don't is more complicated than just tire size, just wheel choice or just lift. All three parts make a big difference. Lots of info on here to help guide your decision. Most popular is some lift with close to factory offset to accommodate a larger tire. Even the tire choice matters as to whether it will rub or not.

They probably posted in the wrong forum, he is looking at purchasing a Tundra with the XSP package, so believe that would mean 2nd/3rd gen, so 33inchers will fit stock.

The XSP was available on First Gen Tundras as well.

I feel a potential trade situation here. Someone with 16-18" rims may want to have those good looking 20's on their rig. Spoiler alert: It's not me, I need more cowbell...., er sidewall.

Stock, I was able to clear 265/75/16’s with a little trimming. It still rubbed slightly coming out of driveways at an angle but it wasn’t a big deal. That was on a 16x7 +0 wheel. The brand of tire will make a difference on fitment as well.

I fit 285/75r16 with mud terrains and billies adj. on the 4th clip (highest you can go on double cab 4wd) and no rub!
Full disclosure tho in the fall I’m BC86546F-DEBA-4AA4-87EE-7D8BF20D6220.jpg 71791728-D4C1-484E-B82D-756B9E2E29DF.jpg 71791728-D4C1-484E-B82D-756B9E2E29DF.jpg 71791728-D4C1-484E-B82D-756B9E2E29DF.jpg going to put the billies at stock and do a 1.5-2” lift with springs. The ride suffered a little the way I have it. Probably go to a A/T tire also.
I’d say do it all at once so you aren’t getting it aligned twice.
