After some thought my 2020 is going and were keeping the 2019 Tacoma and replacing the Tundra with a Corrolla. Uncertain future ahead of us and need to cut down our expenses.

I agree, no shame in that game... main reason I've kept my Celica around, granted its not a family mover but it chops at the massive gas bill for the Tundra in Cali... especially for daily driving duties...

Makes good financial sense. At the end of the day nobody ever knows where anything is going and anyone that tells you different is selling something.

423,000 Km and counting on our ‘01 Corolla, we’ve had it longer than our oldest kid. It’s going up for sale very soon as I no longer need a commuter car, but it’s been an absolutely fantastic vehicle for the nearly 14 years we’ve had it.

It might sound weird but I love that car.

Sorry to hear.... but it is a great time to get rid of the Tundra getting top dollar for them right now.

None of us have a cristal ball but bing prepared in uncertain times is not a bad thing. There's no
doubt In my mind that some in this pandemic are hurting real bad financially this will have some sort of impact for years to come
There's many that have had no effect and will come out without any hardship.....my business presently is busier than ever and booking two years out hopefully it will continue but we are being careful also .
We went through a tough financial time years back we had just bought a new house paid cash for a new car though we were on a roll. Just signed a 6 year contract with amazing pay 6 month in it all came crashing down the company went bankrupt leaving me without a job no unemployment insurance and very little money in the bank and two little kids to feed. So being prepared is not a bad thing.

There will be better years ahead and maybe by then you'll be able to enjoy another new and improved tundra!!

I understand as I commute 75 miles a day. The only relief is I get 2 fill ups per month on the company I work for.

If I had a long commute I would continue driving my Tundra and cut back elsewhere, because as fuel efficient as the Corolla is, it's no match for the larger vehicles you are likely to have an accident with.

Fuel consumption matters, but safety is always first with me.

    Good luck.

A vehicle should never be a make or break finical situation, sounds like your priorities were wrong when you bought it. If I were you I would considering selling the 2019 as well and paying cash for two cheaper vehicles.

OP, if you are going to lease, push for a 2020 Camry, you should get a very good trade on the Tundra either you are leased or financed or bought with cash.

As an example, had to lease a car for the company, I was able to get a 2020 Camry SE for $5/month more than a '21 Corolla XSE, the car consistently get 39mpg and its a much nicer car than Corolla.

If I was cutting back on vehicle expenses I would try to get rid of all vehicle payments, the 2020 Tundra and 2019 Tacoma would both go. Unless you really need a truck I would stick to a good condition 10+ year old reliable sedan Honda/Toyota corrola, civic, camry, civic. Also the somewhat less popular vehicles like scion (just a Toyota).

Good point. The last time I looked, hwy mpg numbers were better on the ‘18+ 4cyl Camry than the Corolla.

Our ‘15 Camry XSE 4cyl is a pretty nice set of wheels, though I’d say you can’t go too far wrong with any of ‘em.

The writing is on the wall. Keystone pipeline is no more, and I expect many more changes, so gas will be going up. Tumultuous times are a coming. You probably made the right choice.

At least your prepared. Gas is going to 3 dollars at any time. Buy lead. It will be a good investment.
