    Did you use Coachbuilder"s bushings when you did you shackles? I have brand new Alcan springs with new bushings. I'm fixin to install the plus 3s, are his
    bushings necessary? Kick ass truck, looks similar to mine.

    Thanks, yes, use CB bushings, very well worth it. At first I bought and installed the boss shackles, ran them for about a month then went to CB because the shop that is doing most of my build recommended them, and I am glad he did, they made a huge difference

    Yes, they are kinda a pain to get the factory rivets out but I have a air punch and grinder so wasn't to bad

    So with aftermarket bump stops, do you have to run spacers on top for 3.5” of lift? (Not spacer lift)

    It depends on if the new suspension lift has the same amount of travel as your stock suspension as well as if the aftermarket bumps stops are taller or shorter than stock.

    The reason you run longer stops is to prevent the suspension from bottoming out before the bump stops make contact. If they bottom out before bump stops make contact you transferring all that force onto your shock body as opposed to the vehicle frame, which is no bueno. So it just depends on the specs for your shocks and new bumps.

    Since I’ve never found anything definitive on my situation, I’ll ask here. I installed TRD Pro Bilsteins from a 2016, which I’m assuming did not need bump stop shims because they have increased travel. But once I added Coachbuilder coilover shims (2 .25 inch shims on each side) I was assuming I needed to shim the bump stops as well… but I read some conflicting info. One convo mentioned the shocks have built in bump stops so don’t need the external ones at all… that made no sense but I’m a functional idiot when it comes to this stuff. Others said you need to had a half inch of shim to match the coilovers… also doesn’t make sense, as the location and geometry doesn’t seem to be a 1:1 ratio there (maybe 1:4 bump stop shim to coilover shim?) I’ve added about 3/16 of an inch of washers and haven’t thought about it much, but is that right?
