Tires rubbing help

hello everyone I just bought a tundra and I don't know anything about wheels and stuff well itnhabe a 2" lift and the wheels are rubbing the frame I think it rubs when I turn the wheel all the way to right or left it don't matter it rubs the wheels are 285-70-17 is there anything I can do to stop it from rubbing so I can turn all the way to park help? I will post pics up Tomorrow and I'm new on here

 

what wheels do you have ? offset ?

 

For rub issues, you'll need to find out exactly what part of the tire is rubbing what part of the truck, and then adjust accordingly. I will say, that 2" of lift, seems pretty small for that size of tire. Solution may be as simple as increasing the lift height, as complex as torch work, or as expensive as new wheels or UCA's. Again, it just depends on what's hitting what.

 

Look in the fender well and try to see where they're rubbing.

Like others posted, we need to know where it's rubbing. The most common culprits are the skid plate, body mount, and/or fender liner. If you look under the truck, it should be pretty obvious where the tires are rubbing

 

It rubbing against the metal frame like when I turn all the way to the right or left I will post a pic of the wheel too I just bought the truck and new to all of this stuff

 

Hey man I know this is an an old post but I’m having the same exact rubbing issue with my 37x13x50s. What did you do to solve the rubbing? I was thinking about taking my grinder to it until it clears...

 

Grinding your frame?
Fix for this to add wheel spacer to push the wheels out what are you running wheel width & offset 13.50 is a wide tire

 

Wheel width is 8.5” with +25 offset

 

You would have to go with a wheel spacer to bring it out. Then you would have to check for other rubbing areas after that....ie front wheel well liner/mud flap area. Never take a grinder to your frame.

 

I agree with you there. I’ve been looking at the 1.25” Spidertrax spacers. If you combine that with a +25 offset wheel would that be like having a 0 offset or even more negative offset wheel ? Not sure on the math there..
