This is your opinion and perspective, which I respect.
My research and analysis on Tundra suspensions led me to a different decision and perspective based on my individual needs and wants.
    Cheers.

Not sure myself, but I think some folks in this thread are still referring to the $4900 eBay set, not the $3200 Sparks and/or Amazon price.

at $3200 I'm on the fence. at nearly $5K, trading your truck in for a Pro might make sense!

Agree about the E-bay comment. If saving $ is the driver, it might be cheaper to buy an SR5 and turn it into a Pro...less the stamped bed. I'm an old fart and liked the brown leather and all the bells and whistles on the 1794, so I moved from there toward the Pro.

Same here. But I still want that plush ride and those fancy red springs!

I don't know if I would call the Pro a plush ride, but it is not bad at all for a pickup. It is a bit stiff over mod speed road cracks but soaks up bigger hits well. And, on the highway, it is very smooth.

Suspension work never seems to be cheap. Whether buying a Pro or adding the Pro suspension.... $$$.

That is not surprising. I had a Tacoma with remote reservoir 6150s on the rear. One was leaking and scheduled to be replaced under warranty. When the service writer wrote it I told him it was a special shock. I guess the parts department did not believe him and ordered a standard shock. Well they put it on lift and took off the old one before they realized they had the wrong part. They had never seen a Baja Tacoma. Wasted 2 hours.

    I got that beat:
Road home from Tundra purchase in Ga. and felt steering shaking/vibrating. Immediately drove to local S.C. dealership where the technician told me all (4) tires (brand new Nitto Grappler G2s installed/balanced by Ga. dealership) were bad and "feathered" and needed to be replaced. 4 Hours later and after going back/forth between the Ga. and S.C. dealerships, the tires were load balanced and all was fixed.

Ah man, don’t tell me that! Lol. I went for the Fox Pro suspension due to the fact they are internal bypasses and already tuned to the Tundra. I’m trying to smooth out the jarring ride of the sport shocks on our less than maintained county roads. I have a feeling going from that to the Fox Pro shocks and downsizing to 18” wheels, I’ve got to be headed in the right direction as far as comfort for when we explore the backroads. I was afraid that factory Fox or King shocks would be too stiff unless I had the re-valved, due to not being bypasses. I’m still in a learning curve though.

It would be quite a bit smoother than the sport, because the sport is tuned for handling. Better handling usually comes from stiffer suspension, so it hugs corners but it rides rough. Getting off those and adding more sidewall will definitely feel more plush. I think Mark was just conveying that it will still ride like a truck.

Absolutely. I love how the truck drives on the curvy roads, and the firm suspension is an asset when it comes to towing our travel trailer. But man it’ll bounce you around on less than perfect roads. My wife told me on our last exploring trip that she actually feels bad for the truck, so I used that opportunity to start checking availability on Pro suspension. Lol. I like to keep my trucks mostly OEM. I’m sure this will make it far more comfortable without getting too wild. Ill probably miss the sport suspension in the curves, but I don’t push the truck enough in that aspect to give up the ride quality I stand to gain. Had I been more honest with myself I would have passed the sport package to begin with, but Pro prices were too high.

Ah yes, but I already have the TRD front sway since it’s the sport. So a rear locker is really the only logical step here...ya know, just in case! Lol. Gah, y’all weren’t lying bout this forum.

If you are adding a locker you might as well regear while you are in there. That way you will be all set when you move up to the 35" or 37" tires.
