    Hey all,

I didn't see much info for installing the esp rear under seat storage for 2020+ models with the push button ignition so I figured I would post up some pics while installing it myself.

The 2020 Tundra Crewmax has a wiring harness located in the front of the middle bin cutout for the push button start models.

Refer to the instructions sheet included in the box, everything is pretty self explanatory.

Here is the pic so you know exactly how deep to cut.

*edit* sorry i dont know why the pics are so huge.

Here are some more pics of the install

Thanks! Was looking for this before I bought the storage system. So it doesn't interfere with the heights of the bins or anything?

    It would interfere.

OP, did you relocate the position of that hardware?

It does not interfere. ESP modified their storage bins to account for the wiring harness. You dont lose any usage of the box, and it will sit right over the wiring harness if you have 2020+ model

No relocation necessary. ESP redesigned the product to make it fit for all tundras including 2020+ models.

Imo it’s one of the best mods for the crewmax. There’s not much hidden storage, great place to put some tools or anything you want to keep out of site

I recommend not following their positioning guidelines for measurements. Stick the cutout a bit further away from the mounts. Other people had fitment issues.

Meaning, move the cutout closer to the front seats, and farther from the mounts of the back seats?

Yes exactly. move the cutout closer to the front seat, not by alot but just a bit. Their instructions says like quarter inch or something but just move it out a bit. In this guy's video he followed instructions and it was too close, seems its an issue with the product though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksQh10t1Dw8

I have two questions regarding the installation of this product....
Does your truck have the powered subwoofer ( another wiring issue perhaps during cutting ) and how much difference in noise level is/was there before/after installation of the storage unit?

I just got done installing this two days ago. I have the subwoofer (replaced that pathetic excuse for a sub yesterday!) and the remote start was the only wire around. If you have a multitool, that's a great easy way to cut everything.

    More than a few.....
Been thinking about getting this. I am debating whether to pay more for the aluminum lockable but its a pretty penny....Does this plastic version have any issues with retention since there is nothing holding it to the seat brackets or anything?

I have not noticed any difference in road noise at all. The plastic bin stays put as the foam snugs it up. All in all was a super easy mod, maybe took 30 minutes for everything.

    Lots.
    I didn't notice any difference in sound level in a test run after cutting out the foam to install the ESP bins but out of an abundance of caution I installed mine like this;
    ESP Plastic storage Install

So for the 2020 SR5 that has a keyed ignition, is there a wiring harness under the carpet?

Thank you all for your replies.
Read about a lot of successful mods with happy results which diminishes my anxiety to install one.
    Cheers!

This was my third ESP storage install. My 17’, my new 21 CM and my buddies 20’. He had the push start harness on his 20 Tundra. Just go slow with that forward cut and yes cut from driver side to passenger side direction. Just make shallow cuts and eventually you will feel the plastic harness. The foam where the harness is does not reach the cab floor. There is a void or pocket at the harness and wire area. It will pull out with three three other sides cut with that front cut is shallow. It is the best mod for the “lack of storage” CM..

Another question for this mod... three compartments are implemented with this product, right? Is there an alternative to the lengths or widths of these pockets?
The reason I ask is, if I construct my own configuration, will there be any obstacles regarding structural (parallel) beams in between those compartments. I'm thinking of a making one continuous bin with changeable sections, like an upright cabinet. Maybe extending them further width wise also. Does anyone know what the under side of the carpet and styrofoam look like?

    Thanks to any reply.

Why don't they make a full storage compartment but in all plastic like the steel one. So.much wasted space i find. But don't want to add the steel one.
