I have an 18 and mine are still working fine- illuminating small towns at every turn.

And Amazon did warn that they wouldn’t work.

Year and a half now and airplanes still occasionally try to land on me. These babies are bright and love you long time.

I am getting frustrated. I have tried two different types of LED bulbs in place of the halogen front signals. I have a 2020 TRD Sport with LED headlights. Neither of these have worked. The first ones had resistors provided but I don't want to be messing around with those. I want a plug and play and seems like people haven't been having trouble using LED bulbs if they already have the LED headlights. Might have to get the JDM ASTAR's like you guys. I just hate paying $11.99 for shipping. Weird considering they call themselves Amazons registered brand.

    Anyone else have this issue?

My Lasfit switchbacks hyper flash and no warranty because my purchase was not an authorized eBay reseller. Lasfit admitted there was an issue which has since been fixed.
Update: Lasfit has agreed to replace the defective Switchback turn signal bulbs.
I agreed to $10 for shipping.

Did the JDM front bulbs work fine for you? Prior to whatever else you installed? Because I'm having issues finding something that will work for my 2020

That worked on the 2020. Way better!!!! Now I don't need to stress about finding LEDs to work.

Hello from SoFL. I have the Vleds switchback since they came out on my 07 tundra they have worked GREAT no hyper flash, as the OLD saying goes you get what you paid for. I had an issue with the 1st gen and they replaced it right away.

In my opinion Toyota spends far too much money on engineers that are far smarter than me, they must have wired them like that for a reason. It's not like it would be expensive for them to fix if it was a screw up.

This is the original thread that made me (like probably many of us) wander out after dark and look at our front turn signals to see if they were really that bad. And they were.

In light of the recent recall, it’s only appropriate to update this thread with the 2018-2020 front signal wiring recall that became very well known in July 2020. The wiring was messed up on about 200,000 trucks that are LED equipped, and the fix, as linked above, is to switch a couple of wires. Big thanks to @thomasbus337 for providing a detailed description and pictures!

22 months now, and my JDM Astars are still functioning fine. I had to wear a welding mask to verify. A blind dog was thrown backward by the intensity. For what I think was around $17 on Amazon, these bulbs seem to be a safe buy.

26 months, and the JDM Astars are still going stronger than ever.

I make this somewhat early update because at my last dealer service, they convinced me to let them do the recall service to correct the turn signal wires. They did so.

I’d swear the JDM Astars are now even brighter, and even when I am packed into traffic lines at night, and can see my turn signals projecting 100’s of feet forward onto reflective street signs. I’ve canceled them to verify that was my blinking light. It hurts to look at.

I wonder if the wiring adjustment will shorten the life of these....

    I’ll be back.

Running vleds myself in the front blinker. I did the wire fix myself, and can agree the blinkers were definitely brighter than before. Leds are tough to determine brightness especially when the light isn’t focused. I did one at a time and compared. The corrected side had a much more “intense” light compared to the other side.

Just got out the welding goggles to verify; 30 months, still working as if they are new. Probably around 45,000 miles worth of city/suburb signaling.

I'm almost ready to buy those based on your reports. The resolution of your time scale axis is a little coarse, though. If you could express the time component with a smaller unit...

Also, a certificate of authenticity ala Home Shopping Network.

It was a recall for my 2020 last year.
to fix them. Looked like they just put dual filament bulbs in to fix it.

My 2019 has night and day difference when they fixed the wiring for the recall. They didn’t upgrade the bulbs but swapped the wires in the weatherpack. Took two minutes. Mine with stock bulbs are super bright.

46 months. Still bright enough to blind a mole. In 2 months that makes 4 years of these inexpensive LED lights doing it Timex-style. At 48 months, I will post a video of me shattering the factory bulbs in my teeth, and then another of me burning a stump with my left turn signal.

I used led turns in front only, no hyperflash. No resistor.
Only get hyperflash if i put led both front & rear.

I lived for a long time with the factory bulbs. The front turn signals were the first to be converted, and the $17 price at the time drew me in. The brightness blew me away.

My wife got a new Tahoe in 2020 and it came equipped with interior LEDs. I thought I would hate them, but the light quality was so much better than I expected that I took the plunge on a VLEDS interior kit. Way more than $17...

But after that I went VLEDS for all exterior too. Much nicer. I've never had any hyper flash.

I guess the JDM Astars were my gateway drug to being a shameless LED addict. At least for the truck.
