I'm going to hang some D-hooks from it in the summer I think. Going to try to color match. We will see!

@Crewmax Chris, the 5100s look great. That height is just right.

Interesting ... they should make it so that when the plow is removed you could add an attachment that works as a bull bar.

That plow is beastly and I like the lights attached to it as well.

I believe they do have a bar that can mount to it if I remember right. I will look into that.

Thanks! I agree. I was nervous when I set the snap ring in because it just didn't seem possible! But I'm also glad I didn't do the top setting with the way I'm set up.

Looks great- I'm in the same boat, and got the Fisher SD before this last winter. Need some 5100's over the summer, and some beefier tires.

When I went in to the dealer for the alignment yesterday, they had a set of 275/65/R18 BFG All-Terrains that they had ordered for a customer. He didn't want them when they came in and they've marked them down a bit. I forget if he said $239 or $249 a tire. I looked them up online and found one site selling them at the same price with an added discount but I didn't counter offer yet as I am kind of holding out to get the Goodyears we talked about before. It was Prime Toyota in Saco, ME, if you are interested in that. The BFG's are extreme snow rated also.

Maybe take the quote from the online order in and see if they will match it? some companies are good at doing this... other not so much. Worst they can say is no.

That's what I was thinking. I just wanted to go with the 275/70's and would really like that extra inch they have. Plus, I am a Goodyear Duratrac believer in the snow.

Agreed man, duratrac's are pretty awesome in the snow. I used them when I lived in Oregon for a few years and they definitely stood the test of time and snow. I never used to be a fan of the "can you match this quote" but now a days companies are just needing business in order to stay afloat so usually they will take a couple dollar profit now over the possibility of having to drop the price further down the road and lose profit.

I don't know how hard a compound the MT's are, generally softer with open grooves is better in the snow. Also having the grooves go over to the sidewall. I'm sure @AnonVet can answer that better than I can. That said the MT's have nice big open grooves.

They definitely are. I mean, everyone has their preferences but I've had MT's as long as I have had my truck and I loved in Oregon and snowboarded religiously. and ofcourse there is a ton of rain. I always out preformed most cars and trucks in the snow and the rain was just fine.

The grooves provide great traction and the beefy sidewall not only give you that nice aggressive look, it helps with traction if you get into snow deeper than an inch or two.

To be completely honest, I have a buddy who lives in the snow pretty much year round and he has been running the Kanati Mud Hogs and he swears by them. they are a lesser known brand and the price definitely reflects that. They are awesome in the snow and he loves to show that off. Maybe something to look into? the price is definitely worth it. Remember, Toyo's used to be cheaper tires also, then they got popular. You never know what tire will be the big dog in 2020 or 2025

I had Duratracs on my Tacoma, and want the added height as well. I'd love to stuff even a little bit more, but dont want to worry about rubbing.

Same here. I had to take off the front mud flaps with the wheel spacers so sticking with the 275 width is a good idea.

When are you ordering the Duratracs? I'm anxious to see what that size looks like on our wheels. HAvent been able to find much online with that setup.

Depends. I'm trying to convince the fun police to let me do it but I may need to sell these first or wait until fall. Worst case they will be on in September. Best case as soon as we find out how hard we're getting hit on taxes. My wife closed her business last year so we expect quite a hit there. I'll let you know as soon as I have them though!

Not at this exact moment. Those were what I was running on my '13 crewmax. I'm running Courser MT's right now and they are crazy awesome. One of the best tires I've ever driven.
