That's hand calculated after a 1000 km trip to the mountains. Not my fault everyone else is lead footed.

    Hope we’re being sly.

Guess Im expecting too much, but we’re gonna need tuning AND bigger turbos for 450hp/510ft lbs(raptor numbers) out of this thing?

Hell of a boner kill for us gear heads. Was hoping to see 5 yr old raptor power numbers bone stock for the “game changer”.

I'm talking from engine power / torque only. It's possible that toyota could release this thing with "600" ft lbs of torque from the electric motors.

Also, I'm comparing to a tuned raptor. Stock vs stock this engine makes power very close to a stock raptor.

True but I’ve read one of your other posts about your mileage and you’re using Imperial gallons to calculate the mileage . If you want to see the mileage that everyone else is seeing you need to use the U.S. gallons ( 3.78L ) as opposed to ( 4.5L )

I wish we could use Imperial gallons, if that were the case then getting over 20 mpg is pretty easy, but alas the US has funny units so it's only 18.

From one of your other posts when you stated the L/100km and then said what that equated to in MPG .

My bad. I usually convert to US gallons. Must have picked the wrong option on the website that one time.

Coupled with keyless entry, it’s a very nice feature. You never have to put down or adjust what you’re carrying to unlock or lock the doors or fish keys out of your pocket amongst any number of other things that might be in there with them.

It’s a real convenience and, for me, a must have.

GTFO with this tacoma talk. A first tundra is better than any Tacoma ever made. Ever. Let alone a second gen.

To the dude with the slow poor performance tundra that's slower than a tacoma and equal to a corolla. Sorry bud, you're not running on all cylinders. Stop burrying your foot in the floor and you'll get better than 13MPG in your mall crawler TRD BRO.

I was going to wait to see the specs for the ‘22 tundra but a dealer just offered me exactly what I paid 2 years ago for my trade in. Used tundras are in short supply. Just debating if I want a 2021 tremor or not.

Yes. I’m in construction supply sales. A lot of times I can use the extra 1 foot in the bed and also the extra payload to carry a pallet of cement and brick, instead of taking half it off. Amongst other material as well. Keeps customers happy so they can get everything they need.

my tundra couldn't hit more than 14, most times in the winter blend its 12.

only reason I bring this up is ever since I just got an upgraded fuel pump and ECU update it seems like its doing much better. not sure what the deal is yet, first fill up after the repair and my DTE was like 570, usually is low 400s.

seems odd unless they changed something recently with this repair which was done under a TSB. Im just glad it starts now, LOL.

now I go in tomorrow for a new windshield since they broke mine in the more than a week they had it, :itllbuffout:

Might want to read some Tremor forums before taking that leap. I was tempted by the Tremor for a couple weeks too until I started doing serious research. Ultimately I decided that I didn't want to take the probable chance on my new $60k truck being in the Ford service department on a regular basis.

I really think there is something with this fuel pump recall.

I was having a beer with a buddy the other day who had sold his low mile 2nd gen Taco, that he bought new, and bought a new 2020 TRD Pro Taco. Comparing it to his old truck he said he had had enough and was ready to dump it. He was going on about how it shifted all wack, had no power, MPG's sucked, wished he had never sold the old Taco, this truck is a POS, blah, blah, blah... Then he said he had taken the Taco Pro in for the fuel pump recall, and whatever else they did, and it had absolutely transformed the truck. Way more responsive, doesn't do funky shifting crap, picked up 3-4 mpg, blah, blah, blah... I guess the fuel pumps weren't putting out enough pressure, or something like that? I don't really know.

Anyhow, his bottom line was this is how the truck should have been from the get go. Absolutely loves it now.

ya I am interested to see how this goes for a little bit here. its running like it hasn't before.

I wonder if this new ECU reprogram is much better to compliment the new pump or something.

but yea it appears to be running different now, it doesn't seem nearly as rich for starters

Definitely sounds like an HD is right for you. I'd be nervous getting a Tremor with the 7.3 since it's still early for both, but if you do long trips then going diesel would probably be your best bet.

The tremor is awesome, the 7.3 needs a few years I think. If I was going F250 gasser, it’s the 6.2/6 speed hands down. Proven combo.

Maybe the DTE reset when they did the work? I wonder if it will go back down after you run a few tanks of fuel through her.

I'm stuck with 6.2's at work, and I'd take my chances with the 7.3. There's just so little power, there's decent torque but no power. Every time I go back after driving half tons for a week I think something is broken then remember it really has that little power.

Trade offs, right? Proven engine/transmission combo, but with a big heavy truck it might not be the best for power. Trade off is getting a new engine with no track record to produce the power you'd be looking for. Toyota will likely fix the payload, technology, and gas mileage issues with our trucks, but at the expense of a new engine without a track record. Sucks.

Could it be the 6 speed? I heard some complaints about how GM's new 6.6 tows and most guys chocked it up to the transmission not having enough gears to keep it in the power band (which seems ridiculous to me given that we had 4 speeds less than 20 years ago...)

I rarely tow, and if I do it's an ATV trailer with 2 on, but do have 1000 lbs in the bed every day - I have driven it empty though and it's not much different. It can be at 4-5k RPM and it's still struggling to keep going (relative to a half ton). It just feels like a torquey engine with very little power - best way to describe it is that the engine is choked and isn't getting enough air (air filter is perfectly clean). It's just weird to me how much they de-tune the HD motors - like they could toss a 5.0 in there and it would be much better.

I did do some research. Most of the issues seemed to be the the diesel models. The death wobble seems to be fixed in the 2021’s. Still researching as we speak. I’ll read up for a few days. The truck in taking 10-12 weeks to deliver.

They said they would write in the contract that I can cancel if I want once it comes in. My issue is there are none available to test drive. They said once it comes in I can take it for test drive. If I don’t like it they definitely could sell it within a day. The last one they had come in, a guy drove from San Diego to come get it.
