What do you consider “normal” this is on all 4 tires less than 2 years old.

DOT year, month and week will probably tell you they are older than two years. Some of the tires imported here are not very good to begin with. For the most part if you don't pay much you don't get much. Some of these discount places sell new old stock and forget to mention it

On tires that were manufactured in 2000 and after, the last four digits indicate the week and year the tire was produced. The first two digits identify the week and the second two identify the year.

    You got that right, "forget"
Most people don't but I inspect the dates on new tires before I give them the green light to mount them up.

I’ve known about the date for every set of tires I’ve bought since I got smoked on an old set of “new” trailer tires a while ago. They were 6 years old when I got them, but the manufacturers warranty goes off of date purchased. And I got them for well under 50% off. Regret it now. This will probably be a battle to get them to replace them for minor dry rot.

So what's the date on your tires above? Assuming they are on your 2019 Tundra?

I knew all about tire age when I bought them. I was dead set on getting cooper ATW and these were the last set they had availabke in the US. The crazy thing is they base the warranty and tire life off of the sale date. I’m gonna go in tomorrow and see what they say. I had cooper ATP tires that dry rotted at 2 years DOT date old. Probably not getting coopers anymore.

That does not look great for 2 year old tires. I would expect tires 5+ years old to have some small visible hairline marks, but 2 years is too soon.

I just had a tire replaced under warranty. Purchased them six months or so ago, about 4k miles and one had deep cracks starting around the rim area. I am sure it was probably one of an older batch sitting in a warehouse someplace.

I have had a ton of vehicles in my life, always modded them and changed tires and I NEVER remember issues with tires that seem pretty common now. Not sure why. Many tires these days seem to be hard to balance, get cracks in sidewall, chunks in the tread and other issues. Guess it is the blend of material used now vs old, trying to make tires quieter, smoother, higher mileage ratings, etc.

These tires were actually installed last December, so they are 13 months old. I have had issues with coopers. The ATW just really caught my attention. I will probably switch to
    Michelin or Bridgestone.

I've had great success with BF Goodrich AT tires on two trucks that sat outside all the time. They both had well over 10 years on them when I sold the trucks and they didn't show any cracking on the side walls.
