Look at that ol' Yota back there. My first truck was an '87 long bed xtra cab, carbed 22R with an automatic. Would still have that thing if it was a short bed/ 4X4.

Yeah I love those ones. There are a few in my area but their owners won't let them go. Old Mexican dudes mostly, they know what they have.

I had a guy that came into my old job trying to buy it when it wasn't for sale because he wanted the frame and title to turn it into a tube truck. Eventually he left me alone and I let the truck go for a good price when the time was right. I haven't seen it around and the buyer said he had to travel a fair ways north for it, so I have a feeling it's no longer in the country.

Low temp side job at McDowells; hi side service valve was leaking so I eliminated it(new filter drier has a port) but when I fired it up the high side spiked then went low, and the low side went into a vacuum, cap tube clogged or restricted. The unit is over 10 years old, I told them to buy a new one

    Hey guys
    Small coolant loss since summer.
No visible leaks anywhere. No mixing of fluids.
Temp per gauge is always stable - new thermostat this year
Runs and drives like it should, no concerns.
Welp I lapsed about 1.5 months since last coolant check and I am at L, was close to half last check.
Start ups are slightly smoky and def smells like more than just fuel burning.
Only codes I have thrown have been repeat bank 1 O2 sensor but has not come on in about 2 months.
Do I go after intake manifold gasket? And if I don't have the means to tear down and re-torque would it be worth while to have my mechanic take a look and re-torque / replace to see if this solves it?
I have not noticed any wet spots under the engine bay, see no leaks in my radiator hoses, etc

yea that's worst case scenario, obviously
but everything I can see seems buttoned up tight without any seepage
oil is clean. Coolant is clean
Driving without any power loss, etc

So. FJ55. Needs some wiring done. The engine replaced with the correct engine, and a new dash pads/ clean up the dash.. all of its doable.

A head gasket can leak from a coolant passage right into the cylinder, combust, and eff up your O2 sensors without actually leaking outside the engine. Oil and coolant will both be clean. The small amount you are burning won't affect power. It may or may not get worse, but it won't get better. Your O2 sensors will eventually die.

So, aside from watching and just crossing my fingers for a bit, wwyd?
I do have a buddy 1.5 hours away who just left local Yota dealer as a master tech but can’t get him down here for a bit to potentially do the gasket work.
