I just did this mode. Very very easy. I cut my floor mats so the bins go over the mat.

I had originally picked up a set of weathertech to use with my ESP lockable long box, but didn’t want to cut them up. I sent them back and ordered a set of Husky mats and they fit perfectly without cutting. Love my Husky’s.

Nice mod. Can you take the mat out easily or is that just not an option anymore?

Once you drop seat bottoms you only see a little bit of foam. I guess you could paint edges.

You could just spray them with paint I guess. Once I lower seat bottom I don’t see much of them.

Definitely can take the mat out. Just pull the storage bin up and mat can be pulled out. The storage bin just sits in the holes you cut in the floor so it can be pulled out whenever.

I took the inexpensive route and am very pleased with the result. There are wires under the foam so be careful!

FYI - The factory foam appears to be pretty durable stuff, so I am fine using it as the walls for my storage.

The ESP is easily the best mod I’ve made. You won’t regret it.

That’s likely the route I’ll go

I know many have said it doesn’t affect road noise in the vehicle, but it seems like it would when cutting out that amount of foam right where it’s located. .

Don’t the ‘20 and ‘21 have a wire in the middle area that can effect the storage bin?

Question. Do you think by cutting carpet and foam you reduce R value of cab if it even matters and any increase in road noise..

No increase in road noise whatsoever and no negative issues with R value. Only thing I did was used the cut out carpet pieces underneath the bins before I put the unit in.

So... no noticeable noise from the drivers seat. What about the rear passenger seat, where they do sit on top of the actual reconstructed area?

Does anyone know of a promo code for the esp storage bin? I'm thinking about getting one and it would be nice to save a few dollars.

The 3-bin ESP storage unit was the second mod I made to the truck. (2018 CM)

It has a factory appearance, does not increase road noise for any occupant, and it does not interfere with the installation of a sub. It offers plenty of storage for small items, but is not good if you want to store a rifle.

I applied DynaMat to the bottom of each well at the time I upgraded the sound system and applied the material all over the truck. I can’t honestly say that it made a difference because I never heard any road noise from the cut outs BEFORE applying the DynaMat.

I got mine as a Christmas gift, so the $ didn’t bother me at all. (And honestly this is one of the less expensive upgrades amongst my addict-like spending on this beast)

The included installation template is spot-on.

I think (do your research) that they make one for 20-21 that installs right over the wire at center.
