    Geno,

This is epic and exactly what I would have loved to have done if I had not gone with the ESP Longbox.

I love how you tied the wires for the lights to the dome circuit. I did the exact same thing too! This is a nicely done job and really show cases your talent and craftsmanship!

    Nice work!

Starting the color match Raptor liner. Tubes will be color matched while the top plate will be Raptor liner black. After thoroughly cleaning the bare metal with turpentine, on went the self-etching primer, then a base coat. The plates got Rustoleum flat black and the tubes Rustoleum Metallic Blue. Putting a base coat before the Raptor liner ensures there are no “holidays”, areas missing color.

The White Knuckle sliders are installed. The Raptor liner is a great DIY product. I have it on the front and rear bumpers for over two years now, and it’s holding up great. The dye is just paint from an automotive paint shop with no binders.
Drilling the bottom of the frame for the lower bolts is no joke. I used two each of 1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2” so they remained sharp. Drilled slowly with plenty of oil to keep the metal cool and lubricated. I have the smaller gas tank, and didn’t have to lower it to install everything. They came with plenty of hardware for any options you want to make installation easier for yourself. I definitely recommend White Knuckle sliders.

Truck is freaking amazing. Great job!...I am intrigued by a few of your mods so I have questions if you don't mind lol....

Was the Tacoma shift knob a direct replacement? No other mod necessary?

I saw where you plastidipped your hood bulge and bumper caps. How did that hold up over time? Did you remove the plastidip on the bumper when you raptor lined them? Were there any major prepping for that? From what I read, prepping and painting chrome is a pain. Sorry for all the questions. Your truck has grabbed my attention so I had to at least attempt to find out lol. Thanks!

@Unstable_Trip no problem bud! Thanks for your interest. The Tacoma knob screws right on. I grabbed a leather shift surround on eBay. Then shaved down the plastic a little at the end of the shifter so the boot will friction fit over the bottom. Then just tuck in the bottom of the boot under the shift surround.

For the bumper ends, plastidip sticks very wel to chrome. But it’s not a good idea to paint or Raptor line chrome. So I left the plastidip on and then primed and Raptor lined over the dip. It worked really well, and is still holding up great! I did this in 2017 I think. My truck is off road a lot and the liner holds up to a lot of abuse.

@BlueRibbon4x4, thanks for that information. I'm really digging the Tacoma shift knob idea. Seems smaller and low profile. I'm torn when it comes to the Raptor liner. I don't NEED it, but dang it looks good. Thanks again for the reply. Keep up the great work!

@Unstable_Trip you can always color match that Blue Ribbon Raptor. I’m really happy with how the matched sliders turned out. I have a container of color match Raptor liner left. I may do my corners again to match.

@BlueRibbon4x4 The sliders do look great, but I'll leave the color matching to you. I change my mind too much lol. I'll probably end up tinkering with things before I make a decision. I will definitely continue to follow your build for sure.
