Hi there I would like to replace vapor canister purge solenoid valve on my 2007 Tundra. eBay sent me a product which size looks like too small for tundra:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vapor-Cani...a-4runner-Cruiser-Tacoma-Tundra-/283081479722

Mine (as far as I understand) is much bigger and located underneath the car next to vapor canister and gas tank. Please see the photos attached.

Did eBay send me the wrong item or I just don't understand something?

You'll often find these under the hood. It's not a running issue for the vehicle if the hose between the purge valve and the canister fails, but if you put the purge valve by the tank and you damage the hose between it and the intake, then you have a vacuum leak.

What you have in the photo is most likely the charcoal canister.

Thank you so much for your reply. It seems like indeed this one is under the hood not under the bottom like I thought before. Please see the photo attached. It seems like I found it.

Yeah, that would be the one. Do you have a CEL related to the valve?

A new purge valve is very unlikely to address a P0420.

Got it. Sometimes it appears in pair with p0455, p0441, p0174, p0171.
I heard somewhere on youtube about pcv valve, e. g. here it is also advised to replace it:
    https://priuschat.com/threads/p0171-p0441-p0455-system-too-lean-and-evap-leak-detected.194845/
(for prius not for tundra, but still toyota codes)
So I decided to go step by step, because solenoid valve is very cheap to replace in case it doesn't work.
Also one guy on youtube told that symptom for replacing valve is sometimes car doesn't start after putting full gas tank in it. That is my case. All of that doesn't interfer drivability, however earlier or later I should resolve it because of annoying engine light.

You've got quite the collection of codes.

For P0455, use a smoke machine or a cigar to blow smoke into the hose that goes from that valve back to the charcoal canister. Check for smoke leaks. You could have a hole between the engine and the charcoal canister that just needs to be patched to get that code to go away.

P0441 doesn't really tell you much.

P0174, use the smoke machine or a cigar to blow smoke into the intake (use some packing or masking tape to tape the intake shut where the air filter is).
P0171 is the same as above.

Based on this collection of codes, the purge valve might be stuck open or you could have an enormous air leak in your gas tank that is leaning out the truck when it attempts to test the evap system. You could also have a cracked vacuum hose or a vacuum hose that has fallen off.

Notice in the thread you linked to that the OP did some tests and found that he just had a failed gas cap.

If you brought me this truck to repair, I would start with a new gas cap and I would be inspecting all of the vacuum lines on the engine to look for cracks or other obvious issues.

Yeah, multiple things to check.. The thing triggered me was that video I mentioned earlier:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsKOU6A8_G0&list=PL1LewHmwtvoZKdc7EQw3rU1e-yzss15_2&index=10&t=30s

Where the guy points right on my symptom - when I am low on gas, then I get full tank at gas station - the car doesn't start (even though it started before with low gas). That's why I decided first to replace valve, what seems to be easy, even if it wouldn't work. For the gas cap - it looks like ok, at least I don't see anything ..
I would like to bring it to you for repair, but I am in NJ lol

push those hoses all the way in, the VSV push them all in, and make sure you don't have any cracks on those hoses, or it will trigger Check engine lights... Can't help to try, and its free...

It is funny, the evapor canister valve and gas cap cost almost the same - $17. So I can try to replace one thing and then the second one. Both are easy to do, unless I find some obvious crack/leak in other hoses around... Yet I did not..

    Here is an update.
I have partially resolved the problem. For now, I have no problem with starting the engine. Earlier I had the problem when on a low gas I got full tank at the gas station and then tried to start it. For some reason it doesn't start only after I get full tank of gas at gas station.
So I replaced vapor canister purge solenoid valve, 15 bucks from eBay. Visually eBay valve didn't look like mine, so I needed to drill additional hole and find additional hole to fix it above the engine. Also, due to different form of new valve, sensor cable is very tight now, so I am afraid the cable will break. Other than that, it seems like new valve resolved the problem with the engine start.

What is not resolved yet: Code P0420 appears again. So I ordered new gas cap on Amazon for another 15 bucks. Will see whether it works. If not, I am ok with loosing 15 bucks for testing.

P0420 would not indicate a gas cap issue.

P0420 is a check engine code related to the catalytic converter efficiency.
89465 L/R are the downstream sensors. Your code is for bank 1, which is the driver's side.

This code can be set by a defective O2 sensor, a significant exhaust leak between the block and the sensor (you would likely hear this) that allows air to enter the exhaust stream, a wiring problem, or a defective cat. Actually determining if the O2 sensor is bad is a bit of a pain in the butt, and I would just spend the money for a new OEM sensor for that side to see if the code goes away. DO NOT buy a non-Toyota/Denso part. This looks like a decent deal though:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00199FBQ...8&ie=UTF8&vehicleId=13&vehicleType=automotive

and you could do both at once while you're under there:
    https://www.amazon.com/Denso-234-46...s=234-4624&qid=1610385838&s=automotive&sr=1-3

I would only put these on if your truck otherwise appears to be 100% functional and working. If you have a defective catalytic converter, usually there's a cause for this elsewhere in the vehicle like significant oil blow by or rich fueling overworking the cat.

Here is an update. Amazon sent me the sensor. Unfortunately, its socket is not compatible with my 2007 Tundra. I tried to install it on driver's side. Out of 2 muffler sensors, that is one closer to the hood, not to the bed.
It seems like on passenger side the socket is the same, so I even didn't try passenger side.
Fortunately, for this one seller has an option for free return, so I am going to return it...

Or maybe I tried upstream instead of downstream... Will try downstream sensor also now.

Just finished replacing downstream one, the sensor socket is compatible with downstream of my 2007 Tundra. However the engine light did not disappear unfortunately. Anyway going to return it. I did the left one (driver side), maybe later will try the right one also...

The light won't turn off instantly, you'd need to drive around for a few days or reset the code and then drive around to see if it stays off.
