Is there a difference in the 2004-2006 beds that would prevent me from replacing my gas door with an earlier one with a locking gas cap?

my quick google search didn't give me a definitive yes or no answer.

I tried doing this and I can confirm that a locking fuel door from an earlier tundra will fit on the 2004 Tundra. I bought the door from Toyota but didn’t come with the locking mechanism (you have to buy that separately). I still have the fuel door and considering selling it.

thank you, guess now I need to figure out if its less expensive to grab the door and lock from the junkyard then get it repinned to match my key or just buy the door from the yard and get the lock from toyota.

Perhaps just a locking fuel cap instead of the locking door?

I had a locking fuel cap on my 2005 and never had issues with it.

The junk yard is always a good place to look. A locksmith may be able to rekey the lock cylinder to match your key, not 100% sure on that but you can always ask. let us know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

Ooh. Neat. Did you test fit it?

Kinda miss that feature, as my taco has it.

I did, but I kinda want that factory look, and this will take a bit more time which is something to do cause there isn't much else to do.
