2014-2015 Trailer Brake controller mount

    p3 tundra.jpg So the new 2015 Tundra's will be coming out with a factory brake controller. From what I am reading, it is going to be pretty cool. It will have the gain buttons on the dash as well as the manual brake control knob. It will display the braking info on the display in the center of the dash. The problem is that they don't know when it will be available. The other problem is that it wont work with the 2014's because the plugs are different. So what I have done is this. I have a prototype of the factory dash bezel using a Prodigy P3 controller. I have laser cut a custom trim plate to cover the gaps there would be by just putting the controller in the panel. This solves 2 problems. First, where to mount the controller. When you order the P3 you can order the harness that has the factory plug, and it is also a very clean looking install. Second is safety. I am all about making and having safe products in my vehicles. When you mount your brake controller at the bottom of the dash under the steering wheel area, what most don't realize is that there is a knee airbag right there. If you were to get into an accident that is bad enough to deploy that knee airbag, then you will be digging your controller out of your shin. Locating it up high on the dash, makes it safe and easier to access as well. Let me know what you think. I will probably have these available for the P3 in about a month.

    So with this kit I can remove my stock trim piece and store it in normal condition. Then install your trim piece and adapter plate with the brake controller? Then if I want to remove the brake controller and your kit I can put my unmodified stock piece back in?

    Have you started selling these yet? I just bought a 2015 and they do not come with a brake controller. I bought the P3 and would like to mount it in the dash

    SBrown13, I bought one of these from havasbud for my 2015. The P3 fits very snuggly in the plate, and is an easy install. He even included the screws to go into the holes where the bracket normally is attached, and keeps the P3 secure in the plate. Easy installation.
