Vinyl Wrap or Painted Center Front Bumper?

I know I have seen a few trucks with color matched front center bumpers. Not just the bumper ends or covers. I was thinking wrap might not hold up well on that plastic?

I recently vinyl wrapped my stock 18" rims and they came out better than i thought they would so it got me thinking about color matching the center when i wrap the ends too.

 

With the right prep, a wrap will adhere to that surface no problem. The main issue is the durability of the wrap. At that level it will get peppered by road debris and pollutants. Worse case scenario you have to redo your wrap every 12-18 months depending on how much you drive and under what conditions.

 

Agree with Salty. With all the prep and cleaning required to wrap, you would be better off painting- have to do the prep anyway and paint will last longer.

 

I was hoping to not have to sand the front bumper to lay the vinyl and have it look decent. And if I like it after a few months I will move on the getting some paint and paint matching them. Thanks guys

 

Unless your bumper is damaged you don't need to sand anything.
