1st Gen Tundra Bumpers...On a Budget

Hi all,
I just purchased a white 2000 tundra 4x4. It is almost completely stock and I really want to start by changing the front bumper. I, unfortunately, don't have any welding background so I would much rather one that can be bolted on instead. If there are any that are around $400-500 that can be recommended I would love to have a look. Please let me know if you have any experience with this. Thanks Tundra community.

I think the cheapest you’ll find a bolt on bumper for a first gen is at least $750. You may want to focus on suspension first. Adding all that weight to the front end on what is most likely worn suspension will end in a lot of rake or just a poor ride

 

@empty_lord Thanks for the response. Around $750 seems to be the price point I've found the bumpers at while searching online. Any shock recommendations? I want to do some lower-key Overlanding and still have it handle well on the highway. Thanks.

 

I run Bilstein 5100 front and rear, icon add a leaf in the rear and ARB 885 springs in the front with the shocks at their lowest setting. Ride is superb. Roughly 2.25” lift in front with my regular cab

 

Not familiar with any budget bumpers but have you looked at rough country or even Amazon to see if there is a cheap foreign bumper?

 

Because I needed a winch bumper, I went with Iron Bull. Expensive, and heavy. And yes, I needed new front suspension.

 

Would you mind expanding on your front setup? Are you saying stock height on the 5100's and you're getting 2.25" lift from the 885 coils?
