You all have been awesome in the past year and half and provided great feedback and advice, but all good things unfortunately come to an end.

The sad news is that I sold my 06 Tundra this afternoon to a local guy who seemed super excited about it, and seems like he will take great care of it.

The fun news is that I ended up with a 2013 Land Cruiser this past weekend!

There is some parts that carry over between the newer Tundras and Land Cruisers, so I may continue to lurk here occasionally.

Take care, and keep it awesome here!

If there's any interest, I would be fine keeping a build thread here. Just let me know.

Basic summary, 2013 LC w/ 100K miles. It's been a CA mall crawler it's whole life, and is currently rolling on 305/45/22...which have to go...the good thing about the wheels is that they are in extremely good shape, and made by CEC, which I wasn't familiar with, but looks to make high end products. I believe I can sell the wheels to cover the cost of new tires, although it may take some time. If you have any interest in 22" wheels for your 2nd or 3rd gen, hit me up!

I don't honestly think the vehicle has ever been off-road, and it has ZERO rust. Long story short, the owner of the dealership knew the vehicle owner quite well, and as a result of that, included a Toyota 3yr/36K mile warranty. The dealer also put new brakes on all 4 corners, replaced the water pump, replaced the spark plugs, and replaced the cam towers, all within the past two months. It also has a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, which doesn't look to be made anymore.

Immediate goals (this week) are to get new tires, Toyo Open County 3's, mounted to a set of 2014 Tundra TRD rims that a friend was kind enough to give to me free of charge. I'm still trying to figure out the size of tire to order. Husky mats for entire vehicle are showing up this week as well.

Mid term goals, probably by the end of winter or early spring, are to order / install sliders to replace the steps. These will most likely be from White Knuckle Off-Road, as I was very impressed with the sliders I ordered from them for the Tundra. Potentially figure out rack system that can take my roof top tent, although I'm not sure on this one yet.

Long term goals are pretty far out, but at this point would include new suspension when the original wears out, most likely OME BP-51, rear bumper w/ spare tire mount, aux gas tank in original space tire location, and maybe front bumper w/ winch.

    side1.jpg purchase7.jpg

As I read this, this is pretty much the start of a built thread...Again, if any of you are interested, I can copy this into a built thread and update as I go along.

I damn near bought an immaculate 2014 LX570, kicking my ass that I didn't grab it.

Couldn't agree more. Those wheels are terrible. Sweet ride though. I can see why you would like that. I bet it rides like a dream.

    CONGRATS!!!

Good looking Rig! The Land Cruiser is also on my bucket list, but I have to thin my posse. Currently have 6 vehicles. (Tundra Crewmax 4x4, Tacoma X-Cab 4x4, Lexus GX470, Dakota X-cab 4x4, 7.3 Liter diesel Super Duty E350 Van and E150 Chateau Van) Lol.

One day I see a Land Cruiser hanging out w/ my posse!

Had a LC back in the day. Was cool but I'm definitely enjoying the modern amenities in the Tundra. Here's to hoping Toyota brings the LC back in a few years better than ever!

Same here, it was priced oh so well too. Same exact model/examples are going for 15-20k more than a year and a half ago.

The only thing better then a North America Toyota Land Cruiser is.

The Land Cruiser with the BadAzz Diesel engine like Australia and other countries have!

Looks nice! We were looking for LC also couple years ago. But I found a great deal on Sequoia that I couldn't pass up. I would still like to get a LC in the future. Or I might just end up buying my brother's 80 series Land Cruiser.
