Coilovers with a decent ship time

Hi all,

I'm planning on getting coilovers to level my new 1794 - either King w/ resi or Fox w/ resi and cannot seem to get a good ship time. I have been calling around different shops around my area and they all said that coilovers of this grade are very hard to come by. I looked online and ship times are weeks it looks like.

Anyone order coilovers recently and get it within a decent time? If so, where did you get them?

Patience is not my strong suit.

Kings and Fox are way out in delivery times. Some people reported finding Ironman sets available and have gotten good reviews.

 

Most everything is way out. My Aluma's won't be here till June. Patience is a virtue, especially in times like these.

You are referring to the King's/Fox's right?

 

Gotcha. What does “with UCA” and/or with 0-3 inch lift”? Does that mean that the truck has to already have a lift? I’m confused between that and one that doesn’t have that wording.

 

It means you’ll need new upper control arms to allow for correct travel and get the truck back into alignment.

 

Would my stock ones not work temporarily? I know if you go up to a certain height it’ll start to wear.

 

Caster is the problem. Depends how good an alignment you can get. Temp is ok if caster isn't too bad.

 

Gotcha gotcha. So if I get UCAs, I’d have no issue using those?

 

You might not have any issues. I also recommend getting new UCA's with a 3" + lift.

 

Shipping times are bad all around. And it’s good you bought them now because steel prices are going way up. which means everything is going to go up pretty fast as well. In the construction industry rebar prices went up $180 a ton in a matter of six weeks. All other steel products are going up between 10 to 20% effective immediately.

Always trying to exceed expectations! From everyone I have referred, I have never heard even a slight hesitation in voicing positive feedback.

Buddy had a few month lead time on his Icons when he was shopping around. Gave him Ericks number...much quicker, less than a month! Erick was awesome and able to work his magic.

Obviously this cannot be the case with every purchase/parts source BUT it's just a testament to them doing what they can to get their customers squared away!

 

You may need to call around to different companies, may get lucky and someone has the coilovers instock on the shelf. I ordered my icons from Offroad warehouse years ago, was around 6 weeks. Try SDHQ, down south motorsports, boss offroad, rogue offroad in las vegas. For ADS shocks, try matt at MCM fab in las vegas.

Thanks for all the comments! I found some Fox 2.5s coilovers with resi on Shocksurplus. Shipping should 3-5 days. I believe they have more in stock though for anyone interested.

ICONs? For what vehicle?

 

2018 Tundra. I meant Icon UCAs. I hear nothing but great things about the delta joint.

 

So I had the fox 2.5s with resi installed with Icon Delta joint UCAs and it came out great. The ride is night and day better than stock. No one I spoke to oversold the ride. The front of my truck sits a 1.25 inches taller than the rear and I still haven’t replaced my road tires with ATs so it kinda looks a bit funky. The lift was a little over 3 inches total for anyone wondering.

Anyway, I highly recommend them!

 

Any UCA you recommend?

 

Depending on the application honestly.


SPC is great for the daily driver/ light offroad

Chaos = Bomb proof, but will require more maintenance overall but well worth it in my opinion (I run the uppers and lowers on my personal 4th gen w/ 35s, along with a co-worker and the owner run the uppers/ lower on their 5th gens and boss's Tundra).

 

2nd the new UCA... JBA'S is solid and true. Great CS too.

 

Thanks for that. I'm looking for less maintenance overall. Any experience with the Ironman Forged UCA's?

 

Less maintenance - go with SPC for sure. Only real maintenance that will need to be done would be to grease the ball joint every oil change.


I don't have any first hand experience with the Ironman stuff unfortunately...
