A little weekend project I completed.
Time to get rid of the copious amounts of chrome on front bumper, , handles, mirrors, hood bulge, and grill assembly shroud. Just looked...well outta place and as If Toyota assemblers were just grabbing and throwing shit on the trucks at the factory.:p

Ordered the front bumper-shellz caps in ABS paintable from Ecological.
Instead of removing the handles I opted for cheap paintable caps.
Removed hood budge, grill assembly, mirror caps.
Sanded, cleaned, sanded, cleaned. .....applied 2- coats of Bulldog plastic adhesion promoter.
sanded a bit more. 2000 grit. Cleaned.
Then painted on 3 coats Barcelona Red. Waited....touched up. Lightly sanded again with 5000 wet.
Applied 2K High Gloss......3 coats.....sanded again in between coats with 5000 wet. Still need to polish it up now and buff.

It was a bit chilly here so decided to do the paint project in my heated clean basement instead of garage/shop.
House was now fumes central...LOL:eek: Girlfriend left house ( Oh well...actually nice:rofl:)
11 PM set off the Co2 detector in house. Energy company arrived and tested the furnace, etc. Fumes being burnt off in the furnace caused the spike they said. No biggie..I was able to run the whole house fan all night to exhaust any fumes.
Next morning re-assembly. Bumper shells with parking sensors...install was a bit trickier than expected. Rest went on a like a dream. Gotta love simplicity in assembly.
Also capped over the various Tundra badges. Easy-peasy.

As you can see I kept my original Limited w/TRD grill with TSS sensor and did that in black. Hell everyone seems to swap them for the honeycomb grill so I figured be a bit different.

Nice. I am on my way to dechrome too. Just installed bumpershells and mirror caps. I removed the huge chrome badge under the side mirrors. I think I want to install a painted grill surround and hood bulge and call it a day though. I kinda like small chrome accents here or there (keyless door handles for example).

Nice! Did you have to drill out the bumper shells for the sensors?

Fuel delete mod Cup holder upgrade
Not necessary. You can specify if you need the Bumpershellz whole or with holes.

I used Steel-It aerosol in black. Dried as a matte black. Will have to see how well it weathers.
