The double cab bed is deeper and I think slightly wider. My camper shell is more forgiving of gaps than a tonneau. I'm not sure that it would work but you should try it....for science.

Rear diff question. When you guys drain and refill the fluid, do you buy 4 quarts knowing you'll likely waste 90% of 1 quart or do you call it good at 3 quarts?

I think the manual says it holds 3.12 quarts. I'm due for a swap.

I’m wondering if @Tundra2 those Silicone Hoses inside diameters (I.D.) are the proper spec? Looks like they went out of their way to make them thicker preventing collapse per website, but do the OEM I.D. match up?

I'd think they'd have to match the I.D. or else the hoses wouldn't plug on.

I just ordered 4L (4.2qts) of Motul 90pa for mine. It's the fluid I prefer to use for clutch type LSDs and is only sold in 2L bottles. I tried 10-12 different ones before finding this stuff.

If you have a 4x4, maybe buy 5 and do the front too?

The front is 75W-90 and the rear is 80W-90. I also already did the front recently.

I'll probably just suck it up and buy 4 quarts.

If you have any leftover 75w-90 use that to top the rear off.

Thinking out loud here. That hose he purchased was a ‘Roll’ with the same I.D. throughout. Are all of our OEM Hoses the same I.D.?

I know I can make a hose fit it I need to but is it healthy?

Changed the blood in the 5th gen 4runner today. Momma bear went to get diapers so it was hot and thin when I flipped the switch on the fumoto valve. A white vinegar gal container fit almost perfect up to the nipple thru the rci skid plate. Greased the two zerks while everything trickled down. 45-60 minute job start to finish.
I’m so thankful our 4.7l doesn’t have the stupid, messy, annoying, oil filter cartridge canister cocktail going on like newer Toyota’s have!
I even have a special filter drain tool, I still got my money makers oily!!

Keep an eye on any growths or rashes for the next few weeks. Maybe take some time off from work this week just in case.

I actually miss working full time maintenance and McDowells; my mittens were NEVER dry or cracking like they are now. All my tools had a dangerous oily sheen, that only a true fixer guy knew how to handle!
I did always smell like pringles though......
Next time any of you eat their fries; try and tell me they don’t taste exactly like original pringles.....

Let's back track a minute here because i missed this comment earlier.
Several different inner diameters came with that kit.

I didn't have to "make" anything work. Cut to length.

    I think there was a 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10? Maybe 12?

I can't remember for sure. Found manifesto

This Taco reminds me of my very first truck I purchased on my own. It was a 1997 Dodge Dakota regular cab 4x4 with the 5.2 V8. It was an awesome little truck. I had 33" tires on it and an aluminum toolbox. I miss that truck very much.

Nicely. My make comment was a he/she said joke. Sounds like you’ve ruled out the diameters as a problem.

I spent the weekend with some of my VW friends and we were talking about towing. (there were at least two cars being bought and sold and all on trailers)
Yesterday marks 51 weeks of Tundra ownership for me.
I've towed one car, hauled one load of wood, hauled one MaxJax mid-height lift, and clocked a bunch of unladen miles.

The question that kept coming up is, "Chris, why do you own a truck? You don't do truck-things."

    This got me thinking.
I drive at least 300 miles a week for work. The 911 doesn't see any cold weather or salted roads, so the truck is my daily for ~1/3-1/2 of the year. I could save an awful lot of money by switching to a car with snow tires.

    Here's the rub.
I really like my Tundra...but I also really prefer cars to trucks.
I loved my 3rd gen T4R, but it was dog slow and couldn't haul or tow. I really thought I'd be towing my 41 year old 911 a lot more than I have had to so far.

This year is the year the Tundra was slated for a 2" lift, wheels, and tires. Then the tbelt next spring. (I drive the truck ~8-10k a year.) But there's no reason to spend that money if I'm going to move it along. I will not get a proportional return on that investment.

What do you guys think my truck is worth? (I have a number, but I'm curious what the enthusiasts think.)

Totally stock aside from some LEDs and the K&N intake. (I still have the stock intake)
I also have the DD 12-hole injectors, not yet installed.

I'm sure I've seen pics but I don't remember what kind of condition your truck is in. Post up some pics. Sounds like it's your winter DD and you live in land-o-salt. What does the undercarriage and frame look like?

Gotta be careful asking dudes for pics of their undercarriage...

I'm the second owner. The truck has been garaged until I bought it. I live in constant awareness of the frame rust issue, so it gets an underbody wash every two weeks.
The pic of the spring shows the approximate condition of the undercarriage. I can get better pics when I'm not in front of my computer at work.

Just realized the office room of my house is pretty close to being Toyota Cement color. Maybe I'll paint the other room Quicksand and my bathroom Lunar Rock. Not sure if I can convince my wife to let me do the living room Army Green though. :D

I like that a lot, even with a V6. Especially if it was a manual 6 speed with a V6 and gears.

It's a clamp that keeps the axle from wrapping by tying the overload into the main spring pack more directly. It really needs to be moved further towards the axle.

Making a mental note to never drive through Minnesota. I would like to visit someday but I'll definitely get a rental car.

What about just picking up a cheap commuter car? Or a less cheap, but more fun commuter car?
