The only thing I'm dropping money on is a new head unit once the warranty runs out on my 2018 SR5. Keeping the truck until it dies.

    Maybe!
I Have an 2008 with 180k & pull a 7k travel trailer. So, does way better mpg, bigger gas tank, more hp, more torque & more payload interest me? Sure does, but time will tell.

Ford electronics are 100% crap. I've had around a dozen Ford's at works and about 10 have had electrical issues. Sure there's been other issues, but the electronic gremlins are the one consistent problem.

Sold my son's '08 f150. Great truck, Supercab Triton V8, I leveled it and put 35" ridge grapplers on it for him 4.5 years ago before everyone knew what they were. Unfortunately, the entire instrument panel just disappeared one day. All the gauges, everything gone. I have a really good mechanic that said it was something they would do now and then. Granted it was 11 years old, but it started to have some weird issues after that with the power windows taking 60s to come on after that. Sometimes the radio would come on right away, sometimes it took 60s like windows. So, I think Ford has weird shit (ecoboost) with both their engines and electronics.IMG_2272.jpg

That was enough, bought another Tundra and sold the F150. Son will tell you it is a definite upgrade.

My 1st gen, at just 57k on the odo does what I need, but, we'll see....

addendum: If production doesn't ramp up to former levels by then, I'll wait.

My local dealer has gone from 25-30 Tundras per month to 1-2.

Of course this has obvious consequences on price/selection.

I drove an 03 f250 that did the same thing a couple times. Driving down the highway and then all the sudden my gauges all went to 0 as if the truck was off, but it would drive just fine when that happened so who knows

My 2018 has 22k on the clock and I still get giddy, everytime that I climb up into the cockpit. I am 51 years old and grew up with all of my high school buddies having muscle cars with V8's. I wanted/lusted for a Tundra ever since the 2nd gen came out. It is also the very first V8 that I have ever owned. The thought of a turbo powered V6, regardless of the efficiency or HP output, sounds very flaccid to me. I understand the demand for fuel economy and blah blah blah..... Couldn't care less. I think the younger American generations are much more acclimated to the idea of smaller, efficient powerplants. The move to a turbo V6 seems depressing to me just as other events in the world are happening. I'm going to run my '18 until the motor falls out. And when I see the new gen Tundra on the road, there will be no new-car-envy from me. No, in the back of my mind, I will be thinking about the eight cylinders under my hood.

I read a story on the internet that Nissan and Toyota are teaming up to build the next full size truck for 2022. It will be called the Tightundra. ;)

    No.

He is poking fun at the thread and how the same renders pop up every few pages and get the same reactions and questions.

This thread will be a broken record until Toyota officially reveals info.

    Absolutely... a render!

There are some leaked pics from the reveal video that is purported to be aired on the Superbowl, I would regard those pictures more accurate than the "Taintdra" render

Maybe it’ll have a mr fusion and run on garbage. I’d like to see this photoshopped on the next fake rendering.
