We actually had the same truck, same tuner, different exhaust, same intake.

I also hollowed out my cat, did a straight pipe through the cat, welded the ends to the 4" pipe. This was the way I stopped the hollow drone. Looked like a factory catalyst.

Now days, if you need more HP than 475 HP/1050 #ft tq, probably using the wrong tool.

I just read that article about Diesel Brothers, then made the mistake of reading some of the comments below. Man, those are some angry people. My 06 never really made a lot of soot, only time I saw a lot of exhaust was on really steep climbs pulling the trailer. The rest of the time it was pretty mild. I've seen the guys that purposely "roll coal" in parking lots and intersections and always just kinda chuckled at them, because really, you're just burning fuel for what? I generally practiced the feather and coast method to squeeze out every bit of fuel mileage I could. No way I'm gonna just sit there and burn fuel for no reason.
Funny that the Diesel Brothers thing happened in Utah. Bypassing the emissions laws on a TV show will get you fined, but having multiple wives on a TV show is perfectly fine. :notsure:

I know a lot of people in CO that are getting a little nervous due to new emissions laws in what used to be "no smog" counties. I do believe CO will have state wide diesel emissions testing. This year I had to put my truck on the dyno to get checked.

Rolling coal really reeks havoc on the turbine side of the turbo.

Anyone else been in the army where they use jp-8? I wonder if that’s any better. I read it’s a form of diesel but more like kerosene. We used to let our vehicles idle for hours on that stuff. I also remember standing behind the tanks in the full exhaust at the wash rack to warm up. I’m still here so I guess it wasn’t that bad.

It was all about Tacoma’s several pages back. At least people aren’t still posting that same fake tundra/titan rendering over and over. Not much to say about the 2022 tundra if there is no info other than speculation.

Exactly. No need for a 2nd thread of pure speculation. I'd rather speculate about when this new true third gen will actually be released. On time or pushed back?

Lol, this list is crazy inaccurate.

Rams ZF8 that they have been using since 2014 is probably the best transmission on the planet.

GM’s AFM debacle which would eat camshafts / motors and transmissions (lost both at 60k on 2017 Tahoe) is what has killed them up until dropping AFM and introducing their 10 speed.

Ford’s have a number of issues (as all trucks generally do), but would not put electronics as what they are notorious for.

I bought my 14' new and it only has 21k miles.

If I like the new style I am hoping to wait a year and then buy a new 23'.

Honestly, I likely will have this tundra til I die lol since I acquired my 84 c10 hotrod, the tundra splits time and mileage now and if its nice outside I take the c10. Plus I just got my wife a lexus nx which we take on longer trips due to the mpg. So its very possible the tundra meets its demise the same time I do lol

My 18 Platinum with 42k miles is paid off, so not really looking / wanting to spend the $25k to upgrade (sell current for $40k / new for probably $65k). But truck is coming up on needing new brakes / shocks and am wanting Pro shocks for mine, so looking at $5k installed there. Which then brings a 2022 down to $20k’ish.

So if the new 2022 is a game changer in terms of power / interior / ride / mpg / payload / towing / etc, and has somewhere around 50k miles less than my current truck (not that it matters, but still). That will be awfully tempting.

I won't. I have too much money sunk in my 2017. Plus now that I am retired I don't put a lot of miles on it. Not quite paid off but with zero interest i don't plan on paying off early. This will be the first vehicle I have not paid off early.
