Nice to have a place to go set up and shoot. I only wish we had something like that around here.
I've always wondered how places like this look after a while. Do people pick up their brass and shells or are they just left on the ground since it's out in the desert?

I clean up mine and frequently others. It's disappointing but not surprising how many people don't care. Nice thing about my set-up is I can do it anywhere that's remote and has a good backstop in about 20min.

I'm not sure how access is in other states but AZ has lots of accessible public lands.

It's weird how the laws are different state to state. I would be pretty bummed if my state had restrictions that some others have.

We're moving to Oregon in a year or two. I'm thinking of retiring in a year, not really sure how public lands access works up there but the checkerboard sure makes it uncertain.

It will be on the coast somewhere between tillamook and bandon. Not sure yet. I'm really liking the area around coos bay.

We like the southern coast more but my son and his family are in Portland so I might end up around tillimook just to be closer to the gk,s.

Unfortunately there are a few very popular places around Phoenix which have almost closed down numerous times, due to trash. Sycamore Creek/4 peaks area has annual clean-ups sponsored by many clubs and off-road shops. They have threatened numerous times to close the areas down, rightfully so. You drive down to a shooting spot, there is trash like you would not believe; TVs, old furniture...you name it. I drove down into the wash one time....someone left a rolled over, burned down 2012ish F150...its amazing the shit you find in these areas.

When I head out, pack in/pack out - so much so as my 22 brass gets picked up.

Went to the range today with my future son-in-law. Went through around 200 rds. I finally found a range that had the new Walther PPS M-2. I shot the XDS single stack 9mm also as these are the 2 I narrowed down for cc. I liked both, but the Walther wins it for me. Felt better in the hand and I was more accurate @ 3, 5, and 10 yards. 20170325_145913.jpg20170325_145336.jpg20170325_145343.jpg

Thought I would support our forum vender Toytec. Shirts fading, time for a new one. Spotted this PIMP Ride leaving range. Gotta love it. Salute

I liked it, the grip was a little hard on the hand. I imagine after 100 rds your gonna have some blisters hahaha. I really liked the new Walther PPS M-2, great feel and accurate. It lacks a round compared to the XDS, but you can get a 8 Rd clip for it. This will be my next purchase.

I was wondering about the XDs and the grip as well. Wonder if a nice stippling job would help?

Great thing about the XDs is it is easy to shoot, and shoot well. Probably don't have to shoot a ton of ammo through it all the time to be proficient.

I agree TJ, it shot well, and the 2 things I liked about the XDS was it had more Rd capacity and I liked the fiber optic sight it came with. As far as the grip, it was nice, but just found that Walther to be a better feel. Go shoot that Walther when ya get a chance.

Nice! I went out last weekend too. I'm flippin' ECSTATIC that the weather is changing around here.

I also do my best to pick up my own and other's spent brass, but in some of the more popular BLM areas nearby it would be impossible for a couple of guys to clean the place up. People need to be more responsible when shooting or they will ruin it for us all. The silver lining, I supposed, is that I have a lot of reusable .223/5.56, and 9mm brass. =D

I took some CZs and a CZ clone out last weekend. My bro inherited a Winchester Ranger in .270 and brought it along too. Good times were had!
