New Leer Cap question

Hello all,
I placed an order for a new Leer XR that will go on my 2020 MGM DC Sports. My dealer stated it will take 6-8 weeks, I think that might wishful thinking but we will see.

I got the single "automotive" handle (I think it was standard on this model), does anyone know if you can open it/lock it. from the inside? My dealer is 30 miles away so not east to go back and look.

I am going to guess not, mine (total of 3) or any I have seen. The mod we use is a pair of needle nose vise grips clamped inside to the sliding bar that the handle moves.

 

Yes. The little handle even glows in the dark. Be careful using it to pull the hatch closed from the inside though. It’s flimsy enough to bend if you’re not careful.
ETA: You can’t lock it from the inside.
