I was 16 years old. got my driver license on a 1987 Toyota van 5speed manual
    Family van.
Parallel parking was the hardest for me in this van, but got it done during the test and past it, was so happy.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
I received my license the day after my 16th birthday. I was driving my mother's 2003 Ford Taurus. I have no idea how so many people fail that test...
However it makes sense when I look at how the Drivers perform on the road.:annoyed:

I had gone over the car the day before and everything was fine. The morning of I had a brake light out and needed to fix it before the test. Then when I took the test the car died at a stoplight right as the light turned green. I quickly threw the hazards on, chucked it into park and started it, through it back into drive, hazards off and was on my way. It ended up the instructor was impressed and I aced the test. Good thing I had been practicing since I was 13. I could drive a manual transmission by 14. I used to "volunteer" to wash anyone in my family's vehicle so that I could help dry it off by driving it around the block LOL

I did my test in my Mom's Toyota Cressida. My step mother was going to take me down but couldn't so I drove down to the DMV by myself which is illegal on a permit and took the test and passed. I got my license so then I was legal. I had my Mom's car for that one day for the test and I didn't want to miss it. It was on my 16th birthday. Those Cressida's were very nice cars.

Step mothers '84 Camaro Berlinetta. The only time I drove that car. It was on the last day my permit was valid and I passed with a score of 70, that was the lowest passable score. Now I'm a pro.

Dads 74 Fiat 124 station wagon. I learned how to drive in his 63 Rambler 660 criss country wagon turned ramblero, he put a diamond blade on the skilsaw and cut the roof off. After I put a junkyard motor in it when I was 14. Dad said that he never told me I could have it, just that I could get it running. It was sitting for several years at that point and he was going to have it hauled away! That thing was a trip to drive. Manual steering that was 6 1/2 turns lock to lock and a Hurst floor shift I converted from the column. The shift pattern was upside down and backwards. I could drive anything after that.

1970 something Buick Skylark (my dad's). I got my license, then as I was coming out of the DMV, I ran a red light. This particular DMV had nightmarish traffic signal coming in and out of it (three roads, signal lights separated by only 10 ft or so, etc.). I was the first one among my friends to get the license. I was very popular.
