I hear you on price and weight. Its pushed me into looking at and considering aluminum or synthetics but up to $2K for a bumper is steep.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the weight so much as the added cost of springs to hold it. A suspension upgrade wouldn't be bad anyway, but it's all just more money that I want to spend right now. I think I'm just going to keep the truck as is for now.

Did you paint over the Powder coat, or did you get it raw? What does it look like from the side? I've noticed most of the ones that have narrow sides shows everything

And it's a good looking bumper, but I kinda want the hoop. The Tyger one is only 115 lbs and similarly priced. I just don't know anything about them.

    Little info here...

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/tyger-fury-front-bumper.78900/

Most folks I’ve seen that own them have had nothing but good things to say.
There is a fellow local to me and he raves about it.
    Looks solid in person.

Road armor bumpers are stout. Heavy as shit, but they are solid. That's a really good price too.

    Thank you for the info!

It also seemed to have a solid coating.
Not sure if they call it powder coated but it’s a super thick coating like a rhino coating just not as granular.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe he had a skid plate they sold as well.

Yup, and that thread just gave me the info that knocks it off my list. :( The bar is just a bolt on, not welded. *sigh* I guess if I want a really stout bumper I'm going to have to pay big $$$ to get it. C4 Fab is back at the top of my list.

    Demello - problem circled.....
    upload_2021-1-5_13-28-51.jpg

CBI - better on price, but no idea what the small hoop looks like.

    upload_2021-1-5_13-34-21.jpg

C4 Fab, my favorite for looks is really similarly priced to the CIB.

Yeah, I forgot the Demello was so high.
I remember why I didn’t go that direction.

    Try @Truck Brigade for pricing.
They really hooked me up and saved over $300 in shipping alone instead of going direct.

I don’t think they do the small hoop any longer.
It’s the one you attached or the CBI Baja.

Yeah, their site didn't show the baja at all. I like the look, but I think I like the hybrid from C4 a little more. Very similarly priced, and if I have to relocate my sensor, I am going to get the one that I really want. Both are just out of budget right now. I could get one, but I don't want to spend that much right now. Other priorities. That Tyger one just got me kind of excited with the low price.

Edit: I also have to research and see if either or any of these would work with my RCI skid, too. I'm not going to shell out bumper money and then have to get a new skid too.

It was a toss up between CBI and C4 for me.
The more aggressive look, wider stance/fogs and the slightly lower Baja bar was what pushed me to CBI.
The CBI also has two separate fog inserts allowing you to go with round or square fogs.

Yeah, Tyger is priced aggressively, and looks good, but you do lose a couple of things with that lower cost.

I really like the hybrid idea that C4 went with. The open ends give you all kinds of options for light shapes, and they look ok empty too. I'm probably one of the few on here that is not all gaga for more lights. :notsure:

    Yes, the hybrid is nice.
And leaves quite a few options for lights... or none.

Personally, when I first looked at the hybrid I thought about doing the slim line mini light bars on the bottom rail so they would sit at a little bit of an angle.
May not be your cup of tea, just slinging meatballs.

I was thinking the same thing and “V” over at DeMello price matched CBI and I liked both but that is why I went with them. Then DeMello made me a smoking deal on the entire setup including Winch with synthetic rope , Baja Designs 30” light bar and spots

Then Jason over at Krawl Off-road hooked me up with S-pod for Tundras with 6 switch panel that goes in place of the sunglasses holder.

    Pic attached is the switches

Whoa! What?! Demello dropped $700 off their bumper price for you! I'm not sure my knees can handle "working" for that kind of a discount. o_O

    Wait. That’s a crazy discount.
    How’d you manage that?
Quite the margin they’re making on everyone else.

DeMello were just offering/advertising a 15% discount which would be around $350 and then they waived shipping and a rush fee being charged by CBI to get me the bumper in the same time frame. I actually had already ordered the CBI and paid for it in full but when DeMello said they would match the price and get it to me in the same time frame without any rush fee.

So I called the folks over at CBI and they were COOL AS HECK about me canceling and refunded 100% of my money. CBI is a CLASSIC ACT also.

Call “V” over at DeMello , he then hooked me up on a light and winch package, he can hook you guys up.

Wow, sounds like you got a great deal! He makes some good stuff for sure. I remember when he first started fabricating for 1st gen Tacomas. He even flew out to Texas one time for the Toyota Jamboree event, which I thought was pretty cool of him.

Speaking of 3rd gen Tundra bumpers, I’d also be interested in seeing custom builds. Don’t get me wrong. I think CBI, C4, SS Built, Demello, ARB, etc., makes some good stuff. But I was quoted about $1400 for an installed, powder coated custom build from a local fabricator, which I thought was fair considering the price (plus shipping) from some of the more nationally known vendors/fabricators. I’m seriously considering going this route. It would be nice to see some custom 3rd gen bumpers on this thread too.
