Is your truck stock height ? Is the 2020 Pro higher than a 2020 sr5 off road stock vs stock ?

To my understand the Trd Pro comes 2” higher than stock suspension. The only thing I did to fit the tires was remove the front mud guards.

Pro is leveled, so it'll be 2 inches taller up front. Rear stays the same.

So I didn't see much information on this size lift combo... I'm running 6112s on 1.3. Will lt285/70/18 work with the stock trd wheels? Looking at the ko2s or possibly wildpeaks

I think I definitely need to go taller then stock bc of the bilsteins make my tires look tiny now...just dont want a lot of sling on the side of truck if the tires are too wide as well..thx

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME ADDITIONAL PICTURES ON THIS FORUM WITH BOTH THESE two SET-Ups as mentioned from the first page....

    3″ Lift Kit
With a 3″ lift kit, the options continue to get better. However, the wider the tire, the greater the likelihood of trimming.
    Max tire sizes are:
    • 18″ rims: 285/75 R18 – 4/10ths wider and 2.8″ taller than factory.
    • 18″ rims: 305/70 R18 – 1.2 inches wider and 2.8″ taller than factory. There are Tundra owners running this size, but trimming is required. Replacing the stock wheels withafter-market 18′s that have lessbackspacing is recommended.

I have a stupid question that's not really related to how large I can run but I'm not really sure where to post it.

I'm looking to get myself some winter tires and rims. Looking at the following 3 sizes, in addition to stock, which is 275/65R18.

    255/75R17
    255/70R18
    275/70R17

From searching here, seems like some others have run each of these sizes but can anyone confirm if they'll fit? No issues with clearing the brakes, for example, with any of the 17" rims? Thanks.

I see plenty of threads about the largest tires you CAN run, but have done some searches, but not found info about whether you SHOULD get the largest tires possible for your setup.

Say you are totally stock and go to the biggest tire that wont rub. What are the performance implications? It seems like even if you don't rub on level ground, if you start doing anything that loads up the suspension, you risk the tires hitting the wheel wells through bumps, etc.
Trying to get an idea of the performance impact, and whether you should do it.

I have 285/70/18's on a 0 offset on my 2013 with a 3 inch lift. Does anyone know if they will fit on a stock 2020 SR5 until I get my lift moved over?

Moving to a bigger tire on a Tundra usually means moving to an E load tire. That is because there are few tires in standard load in sizes that fit our trucks (larger than stock that is). E load tires are heavier and larger tires reduce your overall gearing- the result: you will take a MPG hit- expect a drop of 1-2 MPG and depending on the size and weight, the truck may feel like it has slightly less power. As far as what fits stock without any mods- a 33 inch tire will fit depending on how wide it is, like a 275/70-18 for example.

Thanks (kind of sucks about the MPG hit)
What about suspension travel though? I would think you still risk hitting the wheel wells a lot even if it doesn't rub unloaded on level ground?

I found a set of 20's local on craigslist for pretty cheap that I'm hopefully going to get today. I was thinking of keeping stock size street-only tires on those, and then getting something bigger/AT for the 18's, to swap on if I'm going to be doing something where more grip would help.
Suspension is absolutely stock right now, though I may be interested in leveling the front sometime. Would probably stop there.

I have stock suspension (2016) and run 275/70-18 which are 33 inch tires vs the stock 32 inchers. No issues at all in any conditions.

All those tires you listed will fit on stock suspension. As far as the 17" rim size question, you need to look at specific rims designed for the Tundra which will clear the calipers. I have 17" Icons. I believe there are Methods that also fit into this category but of course offset will always be in the equation as well.

    Stock, for now
Hello.... just read through this few pages. All in all very interesting setups and a lot of useful info.

I would appreciate any feedback on my upgrades. I am trying to make up my mind on lift kit, rims and tires.
For rims, Im very much towards the Fuel Beast 20x9 with 1mm offset, having the Fuel assaults as a second option.
For tires, maybe a set of Nitto Terra Glapplers G2. 305/50. Its a 12” wide and a 32” high with a 6” wall.
For suspension I was thinking of the Bilstein 6112 for the front and 5110 for the rear, BDS or Total Chaos UCA and a 1” shackle or the BDS Kit with fox shocks, BDS UCA and shackles.

    About the past few pages....

Im my opinion there are two misconception on spacers. People are saying that they dangerous. Any mod done to any suspension on any vehicle is dangerous when not using high quality parts and poor installation. Most if not all vehicles are design so everything works at the highest performance and reliability possible. We like to mod everything. That being said, it will come with a draw back. Bigger tires means less mpg, trim chassis, remove plastic parts, noise, etc. .
Spacers are not a exemption. Buy cheap spacers with non graded bolts and nuts and people will will end up saying they are dangerous. Buy cheap Chineese wheels.....they brake. Buy cheap tires....they don't last, explode or wont balance. Buy cheap coilovers and they will brake or bend. I don't think spacers are dangerous. Its all about quality and installation.

Another opinion that I read was that spacers are the solution if bigger tires rub...WRONG. Things will get worst. With a spacer, all you are doing is bringing the wheel away from the car. This will make the wheel travel on a bigger and more outer circle, which will make the wheel closer to the front. Its just geometry, but trust me it will get worst. The only reason to use spacers is when the tire is rubbing on the UPC or for looks. If your tire is rubbing the chassis or the fender when turning, a spacer will not help solve the issue.

Hope my 2 cents help and again I will appreciate any input on my mod.

I have read and researched a ton, looked at pics and still need some reassurance before I drop almost $3k canadian for rims and tires

    Stock 2019 SR5, no lift

I want to go the following rim:
    18x9.5 with +12 offset

Tires will be 285/65/18. 285 due to rim size as the 275s I've looked say they aren't compatible with a 9.5" rim.

Aside from removing stupid front mid flap, I'm hoping I don't run into any issues. Can't get a lift right now due to parking etc

The below talks about tire and rim size but not going from stock 8" rim to 9.5", but maybe that is because it doesn't matter?

Second Gen (2007-2013) and Third Gen (2014+) Tundra

    No Lift Kit
    Max tire sizes are:
    • 18″ rims: 285/65 R18 – 5/10ths taller and 4/10ths wider than factory. Trimming may be necessary.

I'm running a 18x9.5 +25 wheel with Toyo 285/65/18s and only had to remove the tiny flap behind the front bumper.

Do you think you could've gone with a bigger tire if you had a bumper shim or did more rolling or trimming to the fender?

    Hopefully this helps..
Leveled up front with 5100s (not the full 3 inches you are requesting)

285/75/18 on stock wheels with no spacers.

    9320A461-0A81-4CE3-855B-43C0C2BA992D.jpg

Truck was dead level and tires fit with no rubbing aside from removing the front tiny mudflap.
I did trim the wings off the skid plate because they were close (not rubbing) but I wanted the peace of mind.

Adding a 1” rear lift gave me back the rake I wanted for when I needed to haul something without sagging.

I just bought a trd 4x4 gen 3 with 18” wheels. Will be doing the ready lift 3/1 leveling. What’s the tallest tire I can run without tearing into anything?

Wow. They look great. I just bought the 2021 nightshade crew max in wind chill pearl (white). The only thing I don’t like is the lower profile Stock 275/55/20 tired. Based on your post I’ll bump up to the 275/60/20 and put the KOs on (had these tires on my 2014. Love them).

I want to go as big as I can on my 2019 TSS. Local 4 Wheel Parts told me that most tires in the size on my truck (275/55-20) lack a lot of tread depth because they are specked for OEM replacements. He said his Toyo Open Country AT2 as well Nitto Grabbers will have a lot less tread depth that size tire than other tires in the respective lineups. They don't look as beefy either.

What parts did you use for this? Looks very nice. Diff drop? Rear parts? Setting in 5100’s?

In the OP it says you can run this:
    • 18″ rims: 285/65 R18 – 5/10ths taller and 4/10ths wider than factory. Trimming may be necessary.
But it only gives you the 285 max...it doesn't give you the max 275 tire...would that be 275/70?
