Tested out Eco mode on the Pedal Commander to see if it actually saves on gas...results were a little surprising!

Does Pedal Commander work when you're in 4Lo? I'm wondering if in 4Lo - will Pedal Commander set to Eco mode -4 will make the gas pedal less responsive? When off road and trying to slowly go over an obstacle a sensitive pedal is not your friend.

Patric, I like your videos and definately appreciate the time you take to put these out. The Pedal Commander only controls the sensitivity of the the "drive by wire" acceleration pedal. It does not actually change the aspects of your fuel usage, but only helps manage your acceleration. With this said, your tests were relitivily short and potentially do not offer many acceleration points to make a difference between your three test modes. This may explain why your three test were so close.

IMHO a tuner such as the BullyDog tuner serves a mcuh better purpose by actually reporgramming the computer for acceleration and shift points. As you mentioned, I didn't get the Tundra for fuel economny, so I programed the ECU for performance mode and let me tell you the driving experience is very pleaseing and the shifts are very crisp.

Driving in eco mode is borderline dangerous. Extremely sluggish could be ok if driving on ICE.

I’m sorry guys, just seeing these...I haven’t been on here in days with the fam and the holidays...Yepper, it works in 4Lo, I’ve actually used 4Lo a decent amount lately with the couple snow storms we’ve gotten hit with...I didn’t try it with Eco mode but I def agree, it may work out well for what you’re saying!

Thanks man, I appreciate it!...and yea these trips were on the short side, although there were a few spots for acceleration (hills and 4 stop signs on the route)...I’m actually considering a tune, I’ve never done one before and I’m interested in seeing how well it works!

I found ECO +4 to be the only acceptable ECO mode for daily driving. I'm sure that this sacrifices its intended purpose. I agree with you 100%, ECO (-4 thru 0) felt dangerous to drive in, especially in situations where fast acceleration is critical.
