Hello, does anyone have a good recommendation for a new counter depth refrigerator? Mine is going out and need to replace it this weekend hopefully. Thanks in advance for your thoughts...

Hopefully you can get a refrigerator that’s fits in your area. Most of the refrigerators in my area have been on back order for several months already. Covid caused several delays and then low interest rates caused a larger spike in appliance orders. Best of luck with your search.

More painting. Boys room. Then put together a bunk bed and book shelf. Never ending projects.

Not what I wanted to hear...we're heading out in a little bit to look for new kitchen appliances (fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave).

I ordered my Kitchen Aid appliances in August. The fridge was back ordered until December. Delivered it and the freezer doesn’t work. Called them back and the replacement won’t get here until the end of February! Glad we kept our old one in the garage! Good luck if you are trying to keep with the same brand throughout.

I'm a big fan of the French Door style (freezer in a drawer in the bottom). Those side-by-sides don't have much room at all.
When we moved here, we got a really amazing deal on a LG French Door style at Lowes (yes, you can haggle with them a little). We bought the Lowes warranty and I'm glad we did. The compressor or something went out on it 2.5 years after we got it and we lost a ton of food. Lowes sent us a check for the food and because they couldn't get a LG technician out here and they discontinued that model, we got the amount back that we paid for the original refrigerator.
The new fridge that we wanted was backordered so they gave us a brand new refrigerator (they unboxed it in front of me - it was a cheap model, but it worked) to use until they delivered the new one.
Because we got such a smoking deal on the first LG, the money we received didn't quite cover the new one. They gave us another great discount and, when they delivered it, I noticed a tiny scratch on the handle. They gave us another 20% off because of that. All in all, I think we broke even.
The new one is much quieter and nicer - also, there's a class action suit LG is settling for owners of the fridge like ours that broke down. I'm expecting a decent check from them any day now.

Worked in my vent hood quick. Not too long after we moved in, we'd hear banging around like there were squirrels in it (we knew that it wasn't) but it would stop. Only did it every once in a while. Found out it was the flap that opens and closes....half thr piece came off thr hinge and I just snapped it back in. Then after our roof was replaced recently, they redid the turtle back on the roof and I noticed that when I turned it on it had a slight struggle, but mostly a winding noise that got louder the faster you went. Finally today I had a moment to take it down, bring it outside, plug in, then turn it in upside down. Some pieces if dirt dobber nest fell out as well as the rock granules from the roof. Cleaned it up a lil bit then put it back, everything runs fine. Took more time to uninstall and install than it did to clean it out. Ha

Found a matching set (pieced together by us) all Samsung appliances. Of course, they are about 4 weeks delayed. Came home and looked up online...Best Buy can get all the same applainces delivered free to our door in 3 days and was $85 cheaper. Just waiting for the wife to confirm that's what she wants before placing the order.

Any limitations opening the right side with that wall there? I've got the same problem with a wall on the right side. Our new cabinets do allow more width for a fridge than we had before which is nice. We also will gain some height since the old cabinet over the fridge was 15" and the new one is a 12". Hoping to squeeze a 36" width fridge in there. Here's our space and the fridge we are likely going with.20210102_171251.jpg 20210102_182656.jpg

Looks great! How hard was it? And does dirt get under it? After my shop is built, this or epoxy floor was my next step. I just didn't know if dirt would get under it and just be a pain to have to pull it up to sweep it out.

The door swings open but not all the way to the side. There's a deli tray pullout thingy in there and LG designed the fridge so you don't have to swing the doors all the way to the side to get them out of the way of the tray or the two crisper drawers. If you look really close to the pic, you'll see I stuck some felt up on the door frame to cushion the door if somebody slams it open.
But yeah, double check the crisper drawers and the deli tray (if there's one) to make sure you don't have to have the doors swung all the way to the sides to open them. Our other LG had the separate deli drawer underneath the two main doors and above the freezer so not being able to open the door all the way wasn't an issue.
Sorry if I'm not explaining it well, having one of my migraine moments and it makes it hard to collect my thoughts.

Makes perfect sense. Great call out, I'll need to go back to Home Depot and check on that. My thought is even if the right door doesn't fully open 100% to the doors limit the left door can be opened fully allowing full access to the fridge, but I neglected to think about the deli drawers. :monocle:

Check the build link in my signature.
We’ve got what looks to be the exact same bridge but in regular stainless.
One of my favorite features is that door-in-a-door on the right side.
I’ve heard about the issues on some of the early LG fridges. Fingers crossed on this one... we got an insane deal on it at the start of Covid.

That’s awesome. My fridge was also from BB. When I ordered everything in August I had to get them between Lowes, Home Depot and BB! BB is great for returning for any reason in the first 14 days. My Kitchen Aid range had a bad fan after the first use, they had delivered and installed a new one within a couple days. I am hoping these KA will last! I didn’t have any luck with my samsung appliances at the old house. But hopefully you have better luck than I.

Who is your cellular service with? T-Mobil has home internet that is really good if available in your area. I have Century link with 20 mbps and my cell service is faster.

Sounds like your house is in PW north of 50. I have a few buddies out there and can ask what they use.

    @Dylan7194x4

My friends in PW use Secom, and it’s nothing spectacular.

They didn’t know about T-Mobil internet, so they are checking into that. Most days, hot spotting from T-Mobil devices is what they do. Hope this helps a little.

We are trying out Rise Broadband. Install is Thursday. They claim between 50-100 mbps on their system depending on distance from the tower we do have t mobile for phone service. I get great reception at the house on my tmobile android phone but my wife doesn't on her tmobile iphone. Not sure what that's about. Xfinity is in the process of running fiber out my way but that is slow going. We read alot of bad reviews about secom so decided to avoid. Thanks everyone for the responses.

Super simple to put together. It’s like a big puzzle. When you contact Swisstrax, you provide them with your measurements and they will give you a 3D printout and calculate all the tiles you need.

Dirt will fall underneath the tiles and you simply lift the tile up and vacuum it up. The tiles will always look clean because dirt will never accumulate on it.

I was hesitating at first about the tiles but then I kept researching about them. Obsessed Garage swears by Swisstrax, now I see why. Totally happy so far with it.

Kitchen appliances were ordered today. Went with all Samsung from Best Buy. They had the microwave in stock so I grabbed that and the rest will be delivered on Saturday. Not sure the kitchen will be ready to install appliances next weekend, so they might just be getting stored in the garage.

I did the vent clean out today. I need to get it from the outside too since we live in a 3 story (basement) I was only able to grab a little of it

Did you get the microwave that goes above your oven? We had one but ended up replacing it with a vent from Hausline and buying a countertop microwave. The countertop microwave holds more and the standalone vent works a lot better. I strongly recommend it if you have the countertop space.

Our kitchen is a smaller galley type that is only 12ft long. Counter space is limited so we really need to keep the overhead microwave. This is the one I got. Home Depot was $349 and Best Buy was only $315.20210102_184738.jpg
