Not new to the forum but for those who followed my last thread where I was asking for some advice, the salesman drove my truck to me last night due to some issues with not being able to get up to the dealership on Thursday. Was bittersweet to see my 2016 Inferno Double Cab being driven off but that was short lived, still maintain that it's the best Color with Magnetic Gray Metallic being a close second! If your reading this Toyota, get your act together and bring Inferno back!

Obviously there are some huge differences, LED lights in front, the newer Gauge Cluster and Android Auto. However the biggest surprise for me was how much more comfortable the seats were. I believe Toyota has changed up the foam used because while the seats look the same and have the same adjustments as my 2016 did they are a bit more form fitting and not as hard feeling.

First mod will be some side steps and tint front with an eyebrow at the wife's order to which I will happily oblige :).

Absolutely, with the uncertainty centered around the new Tundras and the turbo v6 or hybrid I figured now was as good a time as any to get into a 2021 and get into the truck I want for the long haul.

    Awesome Truck!

Sounds like your wife and my wife could be sisters. I took delivery of my Tundra on Wed and literally got told we need to tint/running ASAP...okay, done!

Welcome. Steps and tint were my first mods as well. Put some thought into full windshield tint. I’ve got the lightest film possible on mine, 50%. Only need sunglasses if driving into the sun. Also great uv protection for the interior. My wife’s 4Runner has 35% and it’s too dark for me at night. I’ve got terrible night vision. May not be exactly street legal but I’ve never been bothered. You do have to make sure your tinter is top notch because any imperfections will drive you crazy.

Congrats!! I have to agree with you I thought it was just me but when I got into my 2021 sport the seats felt way softer and more comfortable than on my 2019‍♂️ like them better this way though. Enjoy that bad boy

Yeah, it's like a night and day difference after having driven in the new truck for an hour or so, guess enough people complained about the seats being hard as a rock. I had a brief moment of stupidity and was close to inquiring about the new Rams after having sat in one because the seats were that much better. Glad I dodged that bullet because the new seats in the Tundra are just as comfortable. The transmission also feels better than my 2016, seems they tuned it up a bit, could just be that it's a much newer transmission but anyone else with a newer one feel that the transmission shifts a lot quicker and is more decisive?

Just finished a round trip to New Orleans this morning. New KO’s drive like a dream and I turned 50k today. I have heard that the newer models have better tuning-throttle response and better tranny shifting. You will also appreciate those head lights too.

Yes, the LED headlights, fogs, and auto brights are amazing.

I recently had f150 rental and the halogen headlights were terrible. Once you get used to the led’s in the tundra, it’s hard to go back.

Don't lie, the headlights weren't the only thing terrible about that truck.

Mostly everything (xlt) but that 3.5 exoboost and 10speed would put my tundra to shame. But the engine note at 4-5k rpm on the tundra is soooooo much better

I’m pretty sure I just ordered those same rubbing boards. I have the side step version last winter and they didn’t survive up here. Amazon refunded no questions asked. I like the tucked up style of these and I won’t have to lift kids into the back seat once again.
