For every $3000 you make you’ll pay $1000 in fed taxes (33% Fed).

Add in State, Local, etc and you’ll be in the 50% +/- bracket as a real business owner.

Lets say you Sell for your $9k and less the $1300 purchase you’ll be at $7700 gross profit. Kiss half of that bye bye in taxes. You’ll realize $3850 after all tax.

Then that $3850 is whats left to pay overhead and expenses. In the end, it ain’t much thats left over to write yourself a paycheck to go out and buy groceries and gas and rent.

I’d keep silent with the prior owner. You doing the ‘right thing’, while virtuous, will ultimately back fire on you. If you had known prior to her selling would have been the right time. Now its too late. The ship sailed.

Well, after a frenzied search... I've misplaced one of my cam sleeves, cam bolt, and cam nut.
Luckily, it happens to be the one I double ordered when I realized I had a tacoma part.

Even luckier than that... I have both cam bolts from the drivers side that are in good shape. One cam nut is rust free, and looks new minus dirt. The other is no bueno. Reused.

The fates were shining down upon me today.

No idea how I keep misplacing new parts. :annoyed:

Drivers side is buttoned up minus tie rod/sway link. Waiting on my second pair of hands to show up for the rack attack.

Wheelers brake lines all the way 'round. Fluid reservoir was bone dry. Hopefully i didn't cause any extra damage.

IMO I don’t think @empty_lord owes anyone anything or would be doing anything wrong by not contacting previous owner.

If he wants to, fine. If not, whatever. In my opinion he gambled. He assumed 100% of the risk that the thing would be in terrible condition beyond what he was told.

He gambled and won. This is why he gambled. The next one he might not be as fortunate. Should he then go back and ask for a partial refund? No. Buyer beware.

At any rate. I have a disease. I like ripping this thing apart....apparently.

I get that, no choice is correct or incorrect.
At the very least the mechanic should be called out for being either incompetent or a fraud.

What happens after that? Probably business as usual. No change. You wasted your time with a sleazy stealer/mechanic.

    Only most of them.

You know it's done right if there is at least one leftover.

My help showed up. We got the rack mounted, and torqued.

Got the sway bar on, and torqued.

Went to put the tie rods on, and boom. No usable threads. Damned ball joint press. Called local o'reilys. They have a set of outer tie rod ends coming in tomorrow.

$40. Has to get me on the road for work the next few weeks at least. Should be fine.

future knowledge for ya.. use a brass hammer to beat the tie rods out. the softer metal wont mess up the threads

I have one at work, but forgot to bring it. Opted to chance the ball joint tool. We see how that worked out.

I put a nut on even with the end of the threads. Keeps things from deforming/mushrooming.

Also hit the knuckle/arm not the end of the ball joints. The shock helps the taper come loose.

Yesterday when my help showed up he pulled up in a 2003, Silver Sky Metallic, 4.7L, 2WD 75,530 mile Access Cab. I almost shit myself because he normally drives a 2016 blue tacoma.

It was even better maintained than @Professional Hand Model's rig. I asked if I could drive it... I putted around for about 30 minutes showing him the sights. Told him about who lived in each house. He told me I could mash on it a time or two.
    :burnrubber::yes::bananadance::hattip::D:taco:

I've never driven a FGT with the 4.7L for any length of time before...

Before y'all quote me, I know...
    :worthless:
    That was fun.

V8 2wd was very smooth. Floated over bumps. It "went" much faster than my truck when it "goes."

I'm real jelly of the V8 people now.
