    Well since I don’t take my car through the automatic car wash I’ve Literally never used it for that. Although I’ve used it about 20 times to tighten the antenna after it loosens itself.

    My OEM antenna makes a very distinct noise when it hits tree branches or taps a parking garage entrance, one reason why I haven't replaced mine.

    Early on here when this forum was relatively new, I did write up on various antennas with my 07 Tunny. Stubbies and in between sizes. Flat land tests here in Denver Metro, a few miles west up in the Rocky Mountains up to 14,264 ft on Mt Evans, and deep ass canyons, and down on my 5 acre piece of off grid paradise near Ft Garland at 8300ft. Antenna reception is totally relative to where you are at. I have XM and I use it a lot. I also use AM/FM a lot. I can lose Sat signals in some deep canyons here but still able to pull in AM. After all the early antenna tests I did here, I actually went back to the OEM antenna. Mine was already broken off when I picked up my 14. Fortunately @T-Rex266 had a new one for sale and got that. I don't care what stubbie you have, even made in USA....it doesn't have better reception the the OEM antenna. It can't. Just sayin. Been there done that. I have a drawer full of various stubbies gathering dust. Most worked decent enough until you go up into mountains. You find out soon enough which ones aren't good at all.

    I use the auto carwashes that just spray water and soap no issues. I don't like the ones with the brushes though.

    A LITTLE dab of blue thread locker will put an end to that. LITTLE. Full disclosure: I have never had to retighten my OEM antenna and it does not have any thread locker on it; I too have the silly little plastic "wrench" in the gloved box that came with the truck.

    Automatic car washes with the brushes still exist? Everything is touchless here now. I haven't seen one with brushes in years.

    The 2002 has never entered a Brush Wash. Yes they still exist, but are fading out. Recommend only Pure Organic Grass Fed Lambswool Wash Gloves in a bucket of warm soapy water. Use 2 for wax on wax off Ying/Yang Swirl Method Technique.

    The Antenna Source does offer some decent antennas to choose from. A got the 13" flexible mast and it did perform quite well. Especially with FM:thumbsup:
