Best way to remove brush pinstripes

Only 2,700 miles on her and got her pretty scratched up in the desert.

what does everyone use to remove?

 

DA buffer/polisher. Lots of wax/polish/compound options (depending on scratch severity).
Easy peasy

 

Post pics but Turtle Wax rubbing compound works well on light scratches.

That CG stuff is good for very light marking. I had a couple that it would not get out. Had to go more aggressive.

More aggressive pad (Lake) and more aggressive cutting compound (CG) for the deep ones, then work you way down from there with less aggressive pads.

 

I would start with something like Turtle Wax, which is already mildly abrasive. If done properly, it will smooth the edges and slightly fill in those pinstripes so that they’re far less noticeable. I would avoid compound or polishes in such a new vehicle. These almost always scratch the clear coat, albeit in a predictable way that is easily filled in with a wax applied afterwards. The problem with this is that when the wax wears away, those compound-induced scratches remain, and in a new vehicle with relatively undamaged paint, it will be really obvious.

 

I have had very good luck with Meguiars Scratch X 2.0.

I use that with a DA polisher and have gotten some significant scratches out.

I love the CG’s products though. I’ll have to try that!

 

Definitely start with something mild and move up accordingly.
Maybe a hand pad and wax will remove your scratches?

While on the subject let me share this trick with you all...when clean and dry wax your ride by applying a good coat of a quality carnuba wax, w8 for it to haze. Next sprinkle corn starch over the entire truck followed by a quick wipe down with a terry cloth. You won't have to buff for the excess wax to be removed because the corn starch will magically absorb the excess wax and make the task a breeze. Then rinse off the dust and dry as usual. Your going to be left with a super smooth highly reflective amazing paint protection for a few months. Personally I roll with 1 can Mcguires gold premium and 2 pounds of starch. Hand wash and dry...wax...rinse and dry. About 2 hrs of bonding time with my truck!
