Didn't realize what I started by posting that edited pic.

I don't mind chrome but sometimes (for me) there's too much. In any case here's a better version of the above pic ;)

Looks better than I expected. Still, not quite my style.

So a limited front with yellow fogs? Eh. Not terrible but not for me.

Ugh. I'm not a fan of the Audi look. Lol.

A few years ago I decided to pay the fee to be able to buy at the local insurance auction, I thought it would be fun to buy wrecked motorcycles for projects to rebuild and also looked at the cars/trucks. Problem was that since Tucson is so close to the Mexican border that they would come and over bid anything half decent to the point that it wasn't worth it.

Down in Mexico nobody gives a shit about things like a salvage title, but it matters here. So by the time I would have fixed up a project it wouldn't have been worth the time and parts on top of what the bid had been.

Wheelers front/rear brake lines showed up today.

New sway bushings should be here tomorrow. Figured since it was off, and they were cheap I'd order.

Meet my best purchase yet, a 2012 corolla with a blown engine for $1350. Shes mint! Gotta get a front bumper, and have a skirt painted, that’s all for the body.. should be easy to get 9k for it

That's not that old. How many miles and why did the engine go boom?

You'd think they would replace the engine before letting it go for so cheap.

Well. Timing, plus cost of engine swap with labor. With labor and parts markup, your looking at 4K and a week of waiting. While paying for a rental till then

Saved about $700 after talking with Keith at DD as I was about to buy some JBA shorty headers. He provided some good knowledge that talked me out of it.

    1) Not worth it *if* your exhaust is still in good shape (not ticking/rusting off).

    2) Long Headers are best (we already knew this here) but $3k plus.

    3) Titanium Finish is porous and the Silver Ceramic Coating is best. Both cost the same.

    4) 12 Hole Injectors are awesome follow up discussion. He recco’d new Coils and Plugs. Told him I was already there and even have done the o2’s. He said Denso OEM stuff is best. The 12 Holes are Denso, but really change the drivability.

No new exhaust for me. He talked me out of it on the Shorty Headers. I’m not spending any cash on long tubes.

    Happy new year yall!

Just started messing with that corolla i bought for 1350 bucks today.... um.. never had this happen before... but.. theres nothing wrong with it... other shop said it broke the timing chain... i put what they took apart back together and.... well it fired right up and i put 15 miles on it...

so for 1350 bucks... i got 9000... literally for nothing.... no obviously im going to fix this thing up what little it needs and do all the fluids before i sell it on... but holy shit...

and that right there is why so many people distrust mechanics. The scammers so out number the true professionals. Shameful.
