    A bug deflector will solve any hood paint chip issues going forward. Not too much you can do about the existing damage there other than repaint and put a 3M clear shield over it. They make DIY paint chip repair kits but I’ve never heard anything favorably about them.

    One of the reasons I bought an 02 tundra over 03 was because road rash doesn’t show as badly on chrome bumpers.

    Toyota should have used a black plastic and dark primer. :notsure:

    looks like it would be easier to take it off or tape it off, sand it and completely repaint vs trying to use touch up paint.

    Sand and repaint is best option. You’d spend the same amount on touch up pens.

    this would be great except for silver and white trucks...

    You fall off your rocker PHM? Touch up pens are like $12-17. To sand and repaint IF he has a paint gun, the knowledge, and time would probably be 200-300 I'd bet

    Most of it looks like dirt, at least all the stuff below the hood.

    I’ve had the AVS bug deflector II for the last 15 years. It’s worked well and I didn’t even have to use the mechanical fasteners, just the stick adhesive for the underside of the hood.
