    Hello everybody.

I am totally new regarding pick ups and tundras. I went to do state inspection test today and my tundra failed because of passenger headlight. I don’t even know how to name the problem. I need to fix it so I was googling it for last few hours with no effect. The passenger side led strip is not working. Don’t know if it’s fixable. I attached some pictures to make it easier to understand.
Have any of you guys had this kind of a problem? Do you know how can I fix by myself?

Problem is those are aftermarket headlights...
There is nothing stock about them for a 2016, or any Tundra year model for that matter...

I'd pull the bad one, check all the connectors, and see if you can find a name of the company that made them on it..

Otherwise there are a few members here selling their halogen headlights (what you had stock) and perhaps you could buy them..

Also your Tundra is not an TRD Pro.
It looks more like an SR5, maybe with a TRD package.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But it is NOT a TRD Pro.

TRD Pros do not have chrome bumper ends and SR5 chrome grilles and hood bulges.
If you had a white 2016 TRD Pro, it would look like this, down to the bedside STAMPED TRD Pro..

    I'm pretty sure you have a 2016 SR5.

    And welcome to the forum..
Hang around and participate after you get this resolved..

Check the wiring. If that's good then you just have bad LED's. Nothing to do except replace it, or both.

thanks 1lowlife for your answer. I checked my headlights and they are recon 264294. I also checked connectors and everything is looking good. I checked voltage with a meter and there is no voltage at all on the passenger side ‍♂️ Even when headlights are on. I tried to get inside of the headlight but I’m afraid I will brake silicon looking sealing around the front plastic.

The thing is I bought the truck like this 6 months ago. I’m not familiar with pickups cause I’m from Europe. Just trying to find some help on this forum. I’m not even sure which wires are for the LED strip :/

You might be spinning your wheels, so to speak. Saw these on Tundras marketplace. You could have your problem solved in about 15 minutes.

@4rekk Oof. I read this too fast. I just realized these are LED upgraded bulbs. I cannot advise you to use those in that housing and I cannot say whether or not they will even pass your state's vehicle inspection.

I just checked on Facebook Marketplace and found quite a few. Price seems to be between 80-150 for a set of stock OEM's. The only issue is you'll probably need to find someone selling local so you can plug it in an guarantee they work prior to purchase.
    Here's an example.

I bought Oem headlights off 2018 tundra and they have different wiring. I don’t have enough connectors in the truck to hook up the headlight.
Is it possible to replace the led strip inside of the headlight?

Not that I’m aware of. However @iHacker can probably hook you up with with information or wiring harness for your 2016.

Check this video my friend minute 1:45 I remember in this headlights the LED strip is spliced to the side marker bulbs so isn’t a true DRL and actually works as parking lights only

Make sure the bare wires in the harness are ok I think is a green and black wires using bullet connector plug covered in a clear rubber cover

    Hi again guys.
So I replaced my old recons to original 2018 tundra headlight. After I did it now my turn signal lights are flashing faster than before...
Does anybody has idea what it happens? What could be the reason and how to fix it?

fast blinkers usually means the bulbs for blinker are failed.

Then there is a voltage drop to the headlight unit affecting their performance. Or there is a mismatch between the bulb type and the blinker relay.

Hyperflash can occur when using LED bulbs on a setup designed for incandescent. You can swap your amber bulbs to incandescent or add resistors to the LEDs to get rid of the hyperflash.

Just changing one or the other on each side might be enough to get rid of the hyperflash.
