Yep. I responded to your question by saying it’s in the owners manual. Not an attack at all. Then your response to me was pretty arrogant and disrespectful. Now that you’ve realized you’re wrong, you keep arguing yourself in to a corner and attacking others on this forum.

    Good luck on the internet.

If you can ask to take either the service advisor or a tech for a ride to show them the issue.

I owned a 2018 Silverado before my tundra and the only way I could get them to acknowledge an issue was by going for a test drive or recording the issue on my phone.

Luckily since trading for my Tundra a year ago I haven’t been in for anything other than regular maintenance. It’s been a great truck

So you think your condescending reply above was OK?!? Doesn't seem like you only said "its in the manual" at all. That's what I commented about, so no....you're the big bad keyboard warrior here. You'll be on many people's ignore list with those kind of replies. Buh bye troll.

Congrats on winning the internet award. If you haven’t noticed, you’re the one making ignore lists. But good luck. I’d love to see how you are on these other forums where you are “helpful”.

My suggestion is to stop getting on the Forums unless you have an issue. What happens is others have issues and you look for the same on yours. Kinda like back surgery the only people who post are the ones still having issues. The ones that got better have moved on, but that is hard to decipher on the forums because everyone has problems so before long you convince yourself you will always have problems.

Quite true, although I may have been just the 1% of tacoma owners on tacomaworld who never had a problem with the way the transmission shifted, so I may be in the minority :burnrubber:

@Pine Tree State I agree with you, I never had a problem with the Tacoma transmission.

That is most likely the mesh screen right before the throttle body. It's normal, but many people have taken it out to get rid of the noise. The loud noise at start up is normal too, my 4Runner even did it. I believe it's just due to Tundras having a mechanical fan instead of electric.

    Update
The tech says vibration in steering is just like his 2020 Tacoma and it’s normal

and he can’t hear the rear diff whine

and doesn’t feel the clunk in steering

The reason I bought this truck was so I wouldn’t have to deal with these dealers anymore. I don’t have the time to sit and fight with people. Seems like I just have to deal with it and move to something else later on

None of those are normal. That tech is full of something that doesn’t smell pleasant.

lol same here, we got our 2016 tacoma v6 dcab sport early in oct-2015 and never had an issue with the transmission. we were the last holdout on the tsb flash as we didnt get it done until it went in for the 10k oil change after 1.5yrs and they just did it along with the oil change. only thing the flash did was help the transmission not shift out of 6th so much on our ND head winds and all the little hills we have driving to/from the capitol. i usually just left it in 5th since it happens even in my 4runner and it also happens in our tundra when empty.

Man, sorry to hear you’re unhappy about all those noises!

I’ve owned my Tundra for a little less than 3 weeks now, and I’m honestly loving everything about it. From the cold start roar to the drive.

Not sure if I’m hearing anything abnormal about my Tundra... but I’ll chime in if I do.

I switched from a 2013 to a 2017 and you would not even believe they were the same truck. Those 13's were built like brick houses. My 2017 literally throws a fit if my tires are not perfectly balanced lol every truck/year is different I guess regardless of the face that they are all Toyota Tundras with minor changes.

There are a few head scratchers with the later years.

    • I had to buy my own drivers grab handle (I use it to keep from sliding off the side of my seat when I get out).
•I had to buy a trans cooler kit. I didn’t know it didn’t have one when I bought it. I suspect many don’t. I have a very hard time believing that 220+° temps on the regular are not going to lead to accelerated fluid breakdown.
•No rear storage in the CrewMax. Apparently the people wanted floor space. BUT THEN WHY THE GIANT HUMP UNDER THE SEATS?!

Still, I love my 21. And I will say that it is smooth as silk, responsive, and powerful, even with 35s.

I agree I love my 17 and its a platinum so I have all the fun bells and whistles but I just was very shocked at mechanically how different it acted versus my 13. Regardless love toyota and the Tundra as a whole. Ran 35's on both trucks and I think these things should come equipped with them :) it just looks so good....

I think mine does this.... when first taking off after it’s been off. I kinda thought it was odd but assumed it was normal. I can feel it in gas pedal. That the deal with it

I never noticed it on mine until I was driving with the windows down for the first time, which also happened to be the first time I was leaving our lake lot, so I thought at first maybe it was mud or a rock falling out of somewhere. Then I went "duh, I've read about this on the forum..."
