I have loved my Tundra for the few years I've owned one. I've owned a 2019 4.6L and a 2020 5.7. I've had the 5.7 for a year now. I drive 30k-32k miles a year and tow a 5k trailer on a weekly basis. Between all the mileage I'm driving and towing the fuel mileage just isn't there. Barely get 16mpg by itself. Today I'll be picking up a new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation 3.0L Duramax in white. I had been looking at diesel for a long time. This seems to fit the bill. This is also the only one I could find in this trim in white with in 200 miles. I know I may get bashed and opinions will be said but I wanted to share why I decided to make the change. Picture is just to exactly how it looks, not where I'm buying it from. The cab space is also just as big as the crewmax with storage space.

I hate to see a Tundra guy turn to the dark side but this seems well thought out and I can understand why. I wish you the best of luck with it

Good luck. Heard the 3.0L inline is a lot better than the 2.8L pos.

sounds like a good decision, looks like a nice truck

a GMC AT4 6.2 is on my short list for next time around, either that or the next generation tundra, but Im highly suspect of a turbo 6 at the moment.

Suspect of a Toyota product vs GM? That’s funny. :)

Your money, no need to justify it to anyone. Big purchases require a lot of thought and real world comparisons. Good looking truck and I hope it works out for you.

maybe I should have clarified, I m not talking about reliability, I just like large V8s

also, considering my tundra is in right now since it won't start, and I have to get a loaner, Im not that high on Toyota at the moment.

anyways, Im excited to see what Toyota has but the 6.2 V8 is on my short list for sure.

My wife has a Yukon XL with the 6.2. It will smoke my Tundra but has also cost us a little over $3k in repairs the past 6 months not including a $1,500 repair that was performed under warranty.

Fair enough. My 2018 GM 1500 work pickup is a favorite of my local mechanic if that tells you anything.

you know what they say, if it has tits or wheels, sooner or later it will give you trouble, HA

funny thing, everyone rags on Ram, my ram never didn't start....

Im just bitter at the moment, but thankfully I have the extended warranty , otherwise coughing up all kinds of cash for at truck with 63K on it would not be to tasty of a meal.

I just put a new battery in as well as this is my second Toyota battery after 2 years.

    total shit

Respect your change! The Tundra is a dog. A reliable dog, but it is a dog. Pretty much a crime that they can charge so much for essentially R&D from 2003-2007.

I've got a f250 tremor 7.3 gas on order to fill my towing needs as well.

That's a great looking truck. I could only do it for a Duramax but I still like the look of the GMC. Plus you get a tone of creature comforts. I have most of them now but that is because I was willing to spend stupid amounts of money. I love most everything about my truck. Actually, the only thing I HATE is the stupid 6 speed trans. Love everything else.. :)

I was going to wait for the new tundra but also thought to myself it would still have to Rev high to achieve max power over a diesel. The damn thing pulls like an ox when you first step on the pedal.
