99% sure the parking sensor switch is a positional button. If you turn it of the button pops out and they are off until you press it again.

There's a button you can press to turn them off, and when they're off, they stay off. I turn them off when I'm hooked up to a trailer, as the constant beeping when I'm backing up gets annoying. I have to remember to then turn them again when I'm unhitched.

I like the sensors. They're and extra layer of protection. Given the size of truck, I find they're handy.

If you have a backup camera then the sensors are quite redundant. Mine are off 24/7

Turned mine off a year ago. Haven't hit anything yet. I drive with my eyes open.

Ok so i found another annoyance with these sensors. When it rains one will go off constantly. Had to hit the off button the other day when it rained that one time in Texas.

The Parking sensors are nice but more for turning into and out of spots, does nothing for you driving straight into a spot and inching forward.
My 2 biggest complaints with the sensors have already been mentioned here:
1.) no center front sensor, how hard would one more be.
2.) the button position and lack of dash light. You turn it off way down by the console and I can’t see the button or light to know if they are on or off without bending over to look.
It should be easily visible somewhere while your driving.

That being said, I think the package is still worth it even if you don’t use the sensors very often.

PS. Lane departure warning needs an adjustable minimum speed. I want it for highway speeds 65mph + I don’t want it going off when I’m driving around town at 33mph.

^^^ I keep Lane Departure turned off permanently. It basically just lets my wife know if I'm not paying enough attention. I don't need my truck ratting on me, lol.

Newbie here with a new to me 2018 Tundra Limited Crew max.
Question, is it okay to leave the parking assistant switch on all the time? My owners manual says not to use over mph. I'm hoping they don't mean that you need to turn it off and on over 6mph. Probably a stupid question, but this was the closest thread I have found that addresses it.
    Thank you

You can leave it on. It will turn itself off at 6 mph and then back on below that. It is to keep it from beeping on the highway every time you pass another vehicle etc...

I don't think it has a front sensor at all. Just the side/corners. I had a buddy watch while I crept closer and closer to his vehicle and it never went off. Pretty annoying since the view over the hood is so misleading. Usually my first attempt in a parking spot has the back end sticking out three feet farther than it should be. Meanwhile you could park a motorcycle between me and the vehicle in front of me.
